This is Me for You (silent edition—Piece 2) _______________ waiting. at the door. that you closed. knocking knocking knocking let me in. talking talking talking through the door. i want in. waiting waiting waiting the sun through the window now blinding my eyes. trying not to trying not to trying not to cry. so i do. i can’t tell if you hear me over my screaming whimpers. i want in, let me in! you won’t let me. you Can’t let me.
i have to walk away now. my legs are giving out. and i have to leave before they give up. cause i’ve given up on you.

The poem is titled Self-Love
It’s about the process of accepting being unwanted. And the necessity of doing so.
You can try, you can try, you can try, but if someone closed the door on you, you’re wasting your energy.
You’re giving yourself away to someone who doesn’t want a gift.
And that is exactly what you are:
A gift.
So realize that the person is not going to open the door, and walk away before your legs give out.
Because you’ve already had people give out on you. You don’t need to do that to you.
Definitely getting stagnant fever from not being able to go to the studio because of my foot injury. But, you do what you gotta! sooooo thankful that I can even feel/use my legs, so. ❤️
Took this after my first day on set yesterday— I’m super excited for everyone to see Selina’s life route this year… you’ll see why. Also super stoked to have been sent GaryVee’s #CloudsandDirt KSwiss collab shoes! The work, the grind, the hustle. That’s what it’s about. And the fact that I got to wear them on my first day back is crazyyyy to meeeeeee. Thank you times a million
JSYK: I am no longer directly affected by my parents’ alcoholism bc I have found the power in detachment, & through detachment I have found Self Love. Self Love comes w/ Time, Patience, Grace, and Love. Once you accept all of those things, everything works out.
Alcoholism doesn’t just affect the alcoholic. It affects his or her family as well. I know because I have alcoholism on both sides of my family.
According to Talbott Recovery, more than 15 Million people in the U.S struggle with alcoholism. 1 in 2 (child-bearing aged) women drink, 18% of them binge. 60% of adult men reported drinking last month, 23% of them binge.
If you or a loved one drinks excessively, and/or their drinking habits cause friction in the family, recognize it as alcoholism and get help. It doesn’t HAVE to be an intimidating rehab facility. You can go to Alcoholics Anonymous meetings— they are everywhere.
And if your mom or dad is the alcoholic, I HIGHLY suggest Al-Anon Meetings. They have teen meetings as well—Super helpful, super welcoming, and it’s oddly comforting to sit with people who are dealing with similar struggles.
I’ll be doing ‘This is Me for You’ lives on Instagram every Saturday at 5pm EST (unless posted otherwise), so be sure to tune in to hear some poetry and talk about thangs that people don’t wanna talk aboooooooout.
