So I did this digital painting for my Film teacher since she loves marvel and has this cute CA shield backpack that she wore to Endgame. I thought I would make her the Captain America that goes with her shield.

“Stormy Weather” a Stucky fanfic by me. You can read it here (x)

Below the cut you can see some more info and translations for the text in the images.
1. This Section shows us Steve and Bucky as soldiers, the text is quotes from the fic.
2. New York skyline, with the lyrics of Ethel Waters Stormy Weather, as the song is mentioned in the fic.
3. The train scene, once again we have quotes from the fic itself.
4. Bucky being told by Hydra that Steve gone into the ice, the words here are Buccky’s trigger words, written in cyrillic.
5. The boys are making out, the words in the background are lyrics of Lana Del Rey’s song Summer Bummer. Especially the line “It’s never to late, to be who you wanna be, to say what you wanna say.” were important to me here, as it goes with some of the script of the fic.
6. In the final frame you can see the poem “ЭМАЛИРОВАННОЕ СУДНО” (Enameld bedpan) by Boris Ryzhy. Some of you might know this poem from Molchat Domas song Sudno. It’s a poem he wrote in 1997, written after a failed suicide attempt, the highlighted part translates to “And I’m trying to get up. I want to look his in the eyes. Look in its eyes and burst into tears. And never die.” (In the original it’s her eyes). Boris Ryzhy is one of my favourite modern poets, and he has sadly passed away due to suicide in 2001.

Without question, Leyendecker excelled at depicting male homosocial spaces (locker rooms, clubhouses, tailoring shops) and extraordinarily handsome young men in curious poses or exchanging glances. Moreover, Leyendecker never married, and he lived with another man, Charles Beach, for much of his adult life, who is assumed to have been his lover and who was the original model of the famous Arrow Collar Man.” (The Arrow Collar Man is the blonde man in all these illustrations, apart from the sailor)
So while I was on a lengthy Tumblr hiatus thanks to never being at a computer for anything other than schoolwork, I accidentally got sucked into Stucky (Steve and Bucky from Captain America/Marvel movies) fandom. I read The Secret Loves of Geeks graphic novel and was so impressed by @cesperanza ‘s entry that I looked up the author bio which mentioned the 4-Minute Window fic and I was like, “I have to read a fic that is so good the author gets published in a print publication with it as a rec.” And then I was gone. Started reading all her stuff, a bunch of it had art by @artgroves so I started reading anything else that had their art, and and and-
Anyway, the ads were super big in the 20s, not the 30s and 40s but that could still mean Steve and Bucky were familiar with them, right?
Also, I’m totes interested in recs for your favorite Stucky fics and post-thaw Steggy fics (because even old women can get it) and fanart and tumblr accounts, please and thank you. OMGCP is still my main, but I think Stucky is going to be my primary side until Star Wars can cough up some quality FinnPoe gayness (double-digit films with still no openly queer mains, wth).
P.S. I am SUPER surprised by how many activity I had to return to in the forms of likes/reblogs. I have such a tiny, infrequently updated dash and thought I’d just fade into the ether.
