We love because he first loved us. Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.

Each and one of us go through difficulties. Today you might be having a hard time with your family, or your friends, or someone close to you. This beautiful passage reminds us that we were gifted with the Godly ability of love - an ability we should use at all times. Don’t ever cease to love, for it is what opens our hearts to Him!

“You’ve tried to find yourself in the worst of places. It didn’t do anything for you except make you more lost and confused. Beloved, what you’re searching for, your identity, can be found in Me.”

“If I hadn’t ended it, you would’ve kept going through with it. You would’ve ended up heartbroken and bitter.”

-God

‘Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.’ The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.’” Psalm 46:10-11

This is about the hardest thing to do. We are so prone to doing something all the time but the Psalm is clear “Be still, and know that I am God.” Activity is no sure sign of progress. We must wait before we work, sit before we serve, and know before we can teach.

Know what? “That He is God”—Notice the Great “I am” is speaking. Trust Him today, He is your refuge and your fortress. He will make things possible in your life, even if it seems that it’s taking for ever.

For this reason we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away from it. Hebrews 2:1

For most of us the threat of life is not so much that we should plunge into disaster, but that we should drift into sin. There are few people who deliberately and in a moment turn their backs on God; there are many who day by day drift farther and farther away from Him. There are not many who in one moment of time commit some disastrous sin; involve themselves in some situation and suddenly awake to find that they have ruined life for themselves and broken someone else’s heart. We must continually be on the alert against the peril of the drifting away from the Lord and His word.

Jesus never moved away from us. The danger is our drifting from the Lord. The harbour of salvation is absolutely secure. It is Jesus Christ, Who never moves, never changes, and is always available to anyone who wants the protection and security of His righteousness.

THE WORD FOR 1/8

The Lord will vindicate His people and have compassion on His servants. Psalm 135:14

The Lord will protect and defend you.

Trust God to plead your cause.

He is a God who delivers us and sets us free. He is a God of compassion and of loving-kindness, He’s the One who will vindicate you.

PRAYER: Lord, You are the ultimate judge and defender. I pray that You will work in my situation and make Your faithfulness a reality in my life.In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

The LORD will guide you always; He will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.

Isaiah 58: 11

God now has a perfect divine plan for your life and He will guide you every step of the way into the fulfillment of that divine plan!

There is not an area or detail in your life that God will not help you out with – no matter how small or trivial you think it may be. The Holy Spirit is called “the Helper” in the Bible. He will guide you and lead you. When you are confused, when you are lost and overwhelmed, His hand will strengthen you and guide you every step of the way.

He restores my soul. Psalm 23:3

Our Good Shepherd just doesn’t feed His sheep but He also restores their souls. He alone knows how His sheep have been bruised, broken and battered. He hears the cry of every sheep.

Maybe, your soul is crushed because of sin, abuse, hurt, pain or suffering. Our Shepherd knows you cannot restore your own soul. He will pick you up and carry you close to His heart. He will heal those broken places, He will soothe your pain with His love. He will draw you out of those dark places of depression and despair. How great is the power of His love that washes over us, relieving our fears, comforting us in our affliction, mending our wounds, making us whole again!!

He is our hope in every circumstance; O my soul, do not be afraid of what is before you! The Lord is at your side, protecting you in all your ways; He will guide you and keep you, making good all His promises to you!

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”

John 3:16

The Bible says that none of us are good—we cannot be good; we are sinners in need of a Savior. God is good, but we are not. It is while we were yet sinners that Christ died for us, the ungodly.

God’s love is so deep for this world and for each one of us that God sent His Son to die for us. We each had to be punished for our sins but God laid the punishment of us all on Jesus Christ so that we might be free and saved, just as if we haven’t sinned, that is the grace He offers.

The Gospel is the free gift of God’s acceptance, God’s love, God’s life through Jesus. Free grace is not cheap grace. John 3:16 puts that so very clearly. God’s love and forgiveness come at the price of His Son’s life. There is nothing we can do to merit God’s gift and there are no strings attached but it is important to receive this free gift.

Our Gospel for today is both good news that tells us of God’s grace to us in Christ, but also some very hard news. The Bible says “for those who turn away from the love of God, who refuse to accept the free gift of forgiveness and eternal life, there is an eternal death. Some people condemn themselves because they refuse Christ. How you respond to this good news determines where you go- heaven if you accept Jesus or hell if you reject Him.

Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve. Joshua 24:15

Joshua was challenging his people to worship the One God and not the so-called gods of the nations around them. In the text, a single moment of choice is given to the Israelites. Every day, we are presented with choices where we have to decide whether or not to serve God. In a world that is increasingly becoming secular, mentioning Jesus has become a taboo. We feel safer sitting on the fence rather than standing up for the right and displaying our faith.

Sometimes, this may mean losing a friend, a job and facing ridicule. Are we willing to take a stand for Jesus?

Prayer: Gracious God and loving Father, You have shown me how often I have been a coward. Please forgive me. Make me a bold and courageous follower of You. Help me to take a stand against what is wrong and always make the right choices. Give me the courage to say yes to You always, give me clarity, that I may serve You as You want me to. keep me open to the Holy Spirit in all ways now and forevermore.. In Jesus’ Name.Amen.

All your children will be taught by the LORD, and great will be their peace. Isaiah 54:13

It is the duty of every parent to teach their children the word and lead them to Jesus. It is also equally important to surrender them to the Lord’s care. In the years of parenting, I have realized one thing; the Lord alone can open their eyes to the deep things of God.

If God is going to teach your children, they will learn all there is to learn in the world and much more. The Holy Spirit will lead them into all truth. Even the best teacher in the world is no match for Him.

Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways! Romans 11:33

I am He, I am the first, I am also the last. “Surely My hand founded the earth, And My right hand spread out the heavens; When I call to them, they stand together. Isaiah 48:13

This is our God, our teacher!
