With director Jon M. Chu’s fantastic adaption of In the Heights getting ready to arrive in theaters and streaming on HBO Max, I recently landed an exclusive interview with Lin-Manuel Miranda. During the wide-ranging conversation, he talked about his reaction watching the finished film for the first time, his long history trying to get In the Heights made as a movie, what director Kenny Ortega’s version would have been like if they’d made it a decade ago and why that version never happened, how Chu changed the game with the way he cast Crazy Rich Asians, getting to film on location and the way the neighborhood embraced the film, and much more. The Joker may officially have his partner. Margot Robbie has reached a deal to play Harley Quinn in David Ayer’s Suicide Squad film, according to Collider. in David Ayer’s upcoming supervillain film, “Suicide Squad,” for the past several weeks. Now, according to Collider, the “Wolf of Wall Street” actress will reportedly play Harley Quinn, the accomplice and girlfriend of the Joker.

Along with Robbie, other actors rumored for “Suicide Squad,” which Ayer has described as “a ‘Dirty Dozen’ with supervillains,” are Tom Hardy, Will Smith, Cara Delevingne, Jesse Eisenberg and, most recently, Jared Leto. Over the weekend, news broke that Oscar-winner Leto was in talks to play the Joker, but that report has not been confirmed. Delevingne was previously rumored for the Quinn role, meaning she’s either out of the picture or set to play another character. Eisenberg is expected to reprise his Lex Luthor, who will debut in “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.” Warner Bros. announced that “Suicide Squad” will follow “Batman V Superman” and is set to premiere Aug. 5, 2016.
