Another portrait of Cosette. Been loving painting with gouache mixed with watercolor blending media. It’s almost like oils, especially when it’s on a panel like this.

Putting a couple hijinks prompts together! As working girls by day and acrobatic jewel thieves by night, Musichetta and Cosette share a dinky little apartment where the rent is too damn high and the recycling bins are always full. Courfeyrac is their next-door neighbor who thinks they are the best thing since sliced bread and has sworn on bended knee (literally) to place himself entirely at their command, even though Cosette thinks he is kind of a weirdo and Musichetta has a boyfriend. Two boyfriends.
So having enlisted him as their accomplice, they clean out a jeweler’s or two or three or half a dozen – he creates a disturbance and gets himself arrested while they grab the goods and run – only by some colossal stroke of bad luck, the same security guard always seems to be on duty wherever they go?? Bad luck for the security guard, that is.

But then it turns out that it’s not such bad luck after all for the security guard because he falls in love as a sly smile and a head full of dark ringlets goes careening like a shooting star across his line of sight OR THAT’S EVEN WORSE LUCK, POSSIBLY, OOPS
