This small species daffodil Narcissus cyclamineus (cyclamen-flowered daffodil) is distinctive due to the bright yellow narrow, reflexed perianth segments and slender trumpets. The narrow black leaves forming a contrast with the flowers are from Ophiopogon planiscapus ‘Nigrescens’ (black mondo).

I love me a good reflexed perianth. It’s like their little faces are in the wind.
The milk-white flowers of Narcissus ‘Thalia’ (daffodil) are blending with other spring flowering species including a very pale Primula vulgaris (primrose) and the blue Anemone blanda (Balkan anemone, Grecian windflower, winter windflower).

The next morning the friends went out into the garden together, in search of daffodils.
Most of Algy’s friends had seen these beautiful harbingers of spring many times before, but the little green dragon - who had lived a very sheltered life in the bleak and arid country of Patadragonia and then in the confines of a travelling circus - had not even heard of such flowers, let alone seen them.
The strange little creature was so excited and thrilled by the lovely yellow trumpets that he began to glow in the soft yellow and green colours of spring

Since I’ve been behind, so, so behind with sharing photos of my plot, here’s a collection of spring flowers, with more to come as they couldn’t all fit in a post.
