20/June/2021 || Happy selfie Sunday folks!
Here I am in my bedroom with a fresh haircut (thanks sister) and trying out my new camera I traded in my old Canon 550d for a Canon 5d Mark ii with MPB, which is a photography company here in UK which deals with second-hand equipment. I’m a massive believer in second-hand items (better for my bank account and helps reduce waste from old items, and reduces demand for brand new items, so better for our planet altogether!). I will use this as my secondary camera, which means it’s a backup camera for my food shoots, and my second camera when I shoot events (SO useful to have a second camera at events, so that I’m not faffing and wasting time changing lenses). I love the bargain I snapped up, and the 5d ii does seem like a really sturdy, reliable camera. The only drawback is that it is so old that it doesn’t take SD cards, and I’ve had to buy some new CF cards to use with it. But still, I love trying out something new and I think it’ll be a great addition to my kit.
I also wanted to document this time in my life - the week before my uni field trip, and a few weeks before I am going to be moving out of my family home and saying goodbye to my beautiful goldfish-wallpapered bedroom which has been my cosy nest of a space for the last 9 years. I hope whoever has this bedroom next will enjoy it as much as I did.
