I haven’t been able to get this idea out of my head since someone (i think it was Mal) sent a photo of two couples like this in the Gatsby Discord, and i stayed up until 4 am to finish. So have some Jordan/Daisy and Natsby solidarity content.
Jordan always gives me sporty alternative prep vibes (its about the golf), so i tried to show that in her outfit. I figure Nick is wearing a nerdy or witty graphic tee under the flannel. Jay has bisexual beads and Daisy has daisy tights.

Daisy, after causing two deaths and ruining her marriage
Not long ago I finished The Great Gatsby, just so I could say: “The book was better than the movie” (SPOILER ALERT: it is). It was not the sole reason, but I will admit it was the movie that made me go out and buy a copy of said book, even though I wanted to read the book for a very long time. And the book, was as I said, better than the movie.
However, I do I hate Daisy Buchanan. Or I used to hate her. Actually, I don’t know what to feel about her. She seems to be stupid and intelligent, both good and bad, both likeable and unlikeable. She is, in short a real human being. She is real, even though she is fictional. I think we humans like to sort people, and to sort people to be either “good” or “bad” is one of our favourite sortings to do. Especially when it comes to fictional characters. Daisy Buchanan is at first glance stupid and I really don’t understand why she marries Tom Buchanan, even though she promised to marry Gatsby. But you should not judge a book by its cover. It seems that Daisy understands that Tom is cheating on her, and Gatsby is actually giving her a very difficult choice. It is not enough to be in love with Gatsby, she must also say that she never loved Tom. That is not an easy choice to be put in front of. Okay, I happen to hate Tom Buchanan and think it is a very easy choice, but I figure it might be different if you are married to him and have a child with him.
I like Nick Carraways descriptions of the Buchanans throughout the book. Here are my two favourites:
“Why they came east I don’t know. They had spent a year in France for no particular reason, and then drifted here and there unrestfully wherever people played polo and were rich together.” - Imagine if that were your two pastimes. Playing polo and being rich together with others. What a terrible (yes, you read right) life you would have then.
“They were careless people, Tom and Daisy - they smashed up things and creatures and then retreated back into their money or their vast carelessness, or whatever it was that kept them together, and let other people clean up the mess they had made…” - This is true both literally and metaphorically. They have people that clean up their literal mess (i.e. maids) and people that clean up their metaphorical mess (i.e. Gatsby).

uhh sorry yall longest chapter yet, it’s around 3k right now and I’m not even halfway done. I have the ending and beginning finished, but the middle is still in very very rough shape. I also need to add in more details because there is just way too much dialogue. sorry I didn’t have this out before the year ended out. I’m starting school again in about 3 days, so I won’t be able to update as much. I’m tempted to split this chapter into 2 and write a lot more in the next few days. :)
I’m currently in the middle of Chapter 5! Multiple things are happening and I start the spring semester next week, things will be slower than they are now. :( I think this chapter will be the longest one because according to the plot outline I should be tying up some main conflicts including internal and externals. Although there is a plot line that I dont know what I’m doing with, so if you guys theorize something i’m just going to go with it. Chapter 5 should be done tonight (12/30) or tomorrow (12/31)! Just in time for the new year :)
