DETROIT: Become Human Card Game, finally!
Here’s another project I worked on lately. I think I really improved while drawing and shading them. Btw, even the symbols are mine :D They’ll be printed and cut soon!
About the suits: as you see I set the usual symbols aside and used the ps4 ones instead, it’s more meaningful this way!
- SQUARES are strong shapes and at the same time they represent isolation, in a way, don’t you think? Connor is trapped by his programme, Hank in his sorrow and Traci in the Eden Club. Squares can also lead to the idea of “truth” that Connor and Hank are looking for as “policemen”.
- CIRCLES are soft-shaped. They symbolize acceptance, love and protection so they’re a perfect fit for Kara, Luther/Alice and Ralph!
- TRIANGLES represent ascent. It goes from the bottom, the anonymous crowd, to the top, the individuality. Markus, Carl and the Jericho crew cristalize that idea. I decided to put Carl as the queen because he’s the one who allowed Markus to be considered as a real human being in the first place.
- CROSSESstand for authority or interdictions. Since Amanda and Kamski kind of the representatives of Cyberlife and having a huge impact on Connor it seemed like the most logical thing to put them here.
- JOKERSI decided to put RK900 and Jerry as jokers because you don’t necesseraly cross their path or discover their existence/full potentiel on the first go. They’re like little surprises!

yet another thing i wish the dbh fandom would acknowledge more:
the implied relationship between elijah and carl. markus was a gift from elijah to carl, and elijah owns one of carl’s paintings.
how is that not talked about more?? that’s just objectively interesting, like-
they’re both real big on philosophy, and they both believe deviants are alive. carl is a famous artist, possibly with a career that’s lasted longer than elijah’s even been alive, which means that there’s a strong possibility that elijah looked up to carl when he was younger.
just imagine, like- 19 year old elijah kamski staring at one of carl’s paintings going “we’re really in it now, mr. manfred-”
