#depp v heard trial

AH needs to understand the difference between freedom of speech and making up lies to ruin a man’s life. The verdict isn’t a setback for women. Her lies are what made it harder for women to be believed. This has proven that both women and men can be victims of abuse, and when you come forward, do it with the truth.

VICTORY!!!!!!!!!!!

My favorite legal channel explains what the verdict actually means

The verdict in AH’s favour was NOT about the Hoax statement

It was about the statement that she and her friends intentionally trashed the place.

The jury not only ruled entirely in Johnny’s favour, they found AH’s actions so malicious that they ordered her to pay an extra $5 million.

sullxo:

Fuckin’ TMZ is profiting on the Depp v. Heard trial.

They are made a documentary special on Hulu, called TMZ Presents: Johnny v. Amber — From Love to Hate.

Don’t care your opinions, this fucking vile. Especially when they fight tooth and nail to keep Morgan Tremaine out of court, threaten Judge Azcarate, and threaten to sue. That’s digusting when they only turned around to make a profit on a domestic violence case.

DO NOT WATCH THIS SHIT ON HULU.

TMZ never had a lot of credibility or journalistic integrity to begin with, they’re a tabloid and all they care about is getting dirty laundry out to make headlines whether it’s true or not (from reporting miley cyrus dead in 2008, announcing lil’ wayne’s impending death in 2013, to posting fake photos of people like whitney houston and jfk) but this is a whole new low.

The actual trial is available for freethere’s no point in this show existing.

Why do we have to watch AH’s lies play out in HD again? If anyone is still confused about what happened, please just watch the actual trial instead of giving TMZ money for making this.

alvariearmy:

Something that is standing out to me so much is that people who support Johnny Depp and have talked about it… seem fairly level-headed in it. I have not seen many Depp supporters throwing out every accusation under the sun against people who support Amber Heard. (The closest I see is people saying that anyone who supports her supports is an abuser, which is just the truth.)

On the contrary, people still supporting Amber Heard call Depp supporters every possible insult under the sun. Homophobe, biphobe, transphobe, misogynist, rape-apologist, etc. Pretty much everything that most people would not want to be called. But I doubt I, a woman who has been a victim of a man before (not going into details here), am a misogynist. I doubt the many other women who have been victims of violence at the hands of men but still support Johnny Depp are misogynists. I doubt my friends, most of whom are gay or bisexual or transgender/nonbinary, are phobic against themselves.

The statements released by both parties after the verdict also indicate a lot about their characters. Someone else made a post that summed it up better, but Johnny talked about the people involved, including his children, lawyers, and the jury. Amber… talked about how she apparently lost her freedom of speech.

I made a post about AH and I was literally sent death threats. I had to turn off comments, reblogs, messages and asks after my post got upwards of 200 notes in a day. And me - bi survivor - was also called biphobic/homophobic and misogynistic.

The fact that really got to me is that every account I blocked (literally dozens) was a self proclaimed terf/radfem blog and they were calling me a bad person for disliking AH - you know, an actual liar and abuser, but in their minds I guess it’s totally cool to be transphobic for no reason other than people existing.

No wonder these are the people who support AH, they’re just as shit.

a-little-counter-esperanto:

For those of you who saw your abuser in Amber Heard, who saw yourselves or a friend or relative in Johnny Depp, we got justice, we can move forward, the fight continues, and justice is possible

Amber is a mirror of all my abusers and watching people still defend her is literally a trigger.

I’m literally getting death threat asks because I called her a narcissist and questioned her.

hermionesterrier:

I don’t understand people who think Johnny Depp wining this case means victims now can’t speak up against their abusers because they’ll be accused of defamation.

Like…do you even understand what defamation is? Do you understand what it takes to prove it and how hard that is?

Do you understand that Amber Heard has been proven to be a liarwith malicious intent?? That THAT is the reason she lost this case NOT because “she spoke out against her abuser” like ffs you all sound ignorant af

Do you understand that you’re the ones whose posts are literally telling victims of abuse to not come forward if they’re from a certain gender because they don’t fit your narrative??

This case should not be a coat rack for society to hang its problems on so fuck off with your fake concern for victims when you’re literally defending an abuser.

syfygirl1998:

Honestly Amber baffles me.

She divorced Johnny and won a seven million dollar settlement, won the UK trial and had everyone believing the allegations against Johnny. But instead of donating the money like she said she would and moving on, she decided to write an article (an article that has officially been proven false because all the evidence is against her).

Truly the mind of a narcissist.

I think a lot of people are misinterpreting this to mean that I fully support Johnny and think he did nothing wrong when that’s not the case at all. I definitely think the relationship was toxic from both ends and neither of them are innocent in how bad it got between them.

However, as someone who went into this trial with no opinion or bias and just followed the evidence presented by both sides, I feel like it’s important for me to point out that it was the evidence that pointed to Amber lying. And the thing that’s pushing the me too movement back and getting a bunch of misogynistic idiots to attack actual survivors is the fact that she lied, because now those idiots will always be able to say “but remember Amber Heard? Everyone believed her and she turned out to be lying”.

And as a survivor it’s disgusting to see the ammunition Amber gave those people to use against actual survivors in the future.

sluttyapplesforyou:

Some things I’ve noticed amongst Amber Heard supporters;

  1. You are not a woman if you don’t support AH.
  2. You hate women even if you are a woman if you don’t support AH.
  3. Their evidence is from the UK trial, evidence that was disproved in court, or audio recordings that somehow are in Amber’s favour even though it’s all just Amber justifying her abuse of Johnny or verbally abusing him.
  4. If you don’t support AH, you deserve to either; die, be assaulted, be told to KYS, and more “great” things should be done to you.
  5. If, IF they admit AH hit Johnny, it’s because it was reactive somehow, even though she was the one to chase him around just to continue fights and to hurt him.
  6. If they’re a neutral, they think the abuse was mutual for some crazy reason.
  7. The probability of them being a radfem is strong.
  8. Misogyny is allowed towards Kate Moss, Camille Vasquez, and anyone that isn’t AH.
  9. Men are not human to some of them. In fact, men deserve this according to some.
  10. You “obviously” want to fuck Johnny Depp if you support him. No other reason, definitely not because you know he’s a victim, nope.
  11. It’s okay for them to say Johnny Depp deserves to die, that Amber should’ve killed him, or that he should commit unalive, but the minute you say Amber was a POS for what she did, you are the horrible person.
  12. Victim blaming is okay if it’s a man.
  13. Wanting justice for a man, AKA Johnny Depp, is misogynistic.
  14. Male victims don’t exist.
  15. If a woman is abused by a man, they should be allowed to kill that man. If a man is abused by a woman, that man deserved it and the woman shouldn’t be prosecuted.
  16. Misogyny is their favorite word.
  17. If you disagree with them, it’s their cue to tell you to KYS and insult you.
  18. You ARE a misogynist if you support Johnny Depp.
  19. Amber said this and so it is true.
  20. 99% of them will not have a respectful conversation with you on why they support her, and that 1% that will be civil WILL be open to the idea that they could be wrong.
  21. They, the AH supporters, are not wrong.
  22. A phycologist diagnosing someone in 12 hours isn’t real unless it’s in Amber’s favour.
  23. You are a narcissist if you eat candy, obviously.
  24. You can supposedly diagnose someone if you watch a movie that features them.
  25. Johnny Depp supporters have NO evidence whatsoever.
  26. Venting about your abuser is okay….unless you are a man.
  27. You beat your child if you support Johnny Depp.
  28. You are an ugly, diseased rodent if you support Johnny Depp.
  29. You are subhuman if you support Johnny Depp.
  30. A women can’t be an abuser, period.
  31. If you are rich, respected by the community, or older than your partner, you obviously are the abuser, even when evidence says otherwise.
  32. It’s not abuse it you are hitting someone older than you.
  33. Johnny Depp chose to have the trial be public so he could humiliate AH, ignore the fact that the judge decided to have it public and Johnny agreed with it.
  34. If you ever sent a text message venting about your abuser, you obviously plan to harm them.
  35. The jury obviously got it all wrong, the reason big named abuse organizations weren’t defending Amber is because they were cowards, and Johnny Depp is gaslighting you.

At this point my brain is starting to melt from how much insanity many of them spew, so I’ll stop. And since we, Johnny Depp supporters, have no evidence according to many of them, here it is ☺️

Added some more points because people pointed out I left some important things out, so I had to remedy that

If you’re wondering about the ones that talk about “the edge,” it’s referring to a pro AH post where the posters said that they’d beat Johnny Depp to the brink of death.

Last week my own family blamed me for my own abuse and now, watching AH supporters say things like this, I literally feel my breakfast about to make a reappearance.

Did we all watch the same trial? Did we all see the same evidence? Hear the same testimonies? See the same fake tears?

How can anyone stand for a woman this twisted?

Honestly Amber baffles me.

But instead of donating the money like she said she would and moving on, she decided to write an article (an article that has officially been proven false because all the evidence is against her).

herladyshipxx:

You know what’s sick about this verdict? Bi people, particularly white Bi women, are throwing around words like Homophobia and Biphobia and Sexism as some sort of explanation as to why Amber Heard lost. I’m seeing so many bi women, who look like me, love like me, weaponizing their sexuality and gender identity against an abuse victim, because they can simply not fathom that someone like them is lying.

I see so many bi women acting as if men can not also be victims of abuse, as if the MeToo movement is just for women, as if a bi woman is not also capable of being an abuser against her male partner. It makes me sick. It makes me so sick to watch people weaponizing their sexuality, my sexuality in the defense of an abuser.

Amber Heard is an abuser and she abused the trust of the public, the trust if the MeToo movement and the trust of every single person who has survived domestic violence. She is also a bisexual woman. Those two things can and do coexist.

It is not homophobic/Biphobic/etc. to hold a member of the LGBTQ+ community responsible for their bad actions actions.

It is not sexist to hold a woman responsible for her bad actions.

Saying either of those things does nothing short of setting back equality for eveyone.

Don’t come for me about hating women or being Biphobic, or whatever else. I am a Bi Woman.

I’m a white bi woman and I’m so happy to see you posting something about this because I’ve seen people using homophobia as a reason why she lost (funny how amber herself tried to use that excuse the first time she was accused of abusing her partner…). The court case proved Amber is lying and seeing so many people say this is setting back abuse victims don’t seem to realise that the only one who set back real victims is AMBER when she chose to lie.
