Shy’s Taglist

I will be updating stitched together in the next couple of days! Just letting y’all know. No way is on the back burner for now until I get that burst of energy yknow.

Love you my pascalitos.

Hey guys so uh I’ve been depressed and while I’m almost ready to update No Way I probably won’t get to it until this weekend. Anyways if you want to inspire me to write something particularly ✨spicy✨ I’m in a mood and would love any asks. Love y’all.

Quick life/writing update: things are a mess over at the obsessivelysearching household. School is kicking my ass, I’m burnt out, and I haven’t written in weeks.

That said, I don’t know when I’ll be able to update “no way” next but I might write something else in the meantime (like a oneshot) if people have any requests. I am really really really into Pedro pascal but especially din, Javier, Maxwell, and whiskey. So give me a good prompt and let’s break this writers block!!

Simple engine worker from Tatooine. Lived there your whole life, never have been off planet. You had never heard much of the force before. Only hushed whispers when you were a kid. But all of that would change when you met Din Djarin. To be quite honest, he had never heard of it either. Din had heard rumors of it growing up, but brushed it off as lore. He never truly believed in it until he met Grogu. And until Grogu met you.

It all started on a hot day in Mos Eisley. The hangar had been bare all day, only a maintenance worker stopped in the morning to buy some parts. Your hands ached for something to do. Your mind craved a challenge. When you heard the whirr of a damaged ship in the distance, you almost jumped for joy.

“Finally,” you muttered to yourself, shoving up your sleeves and adjusting your hair in it’s knot. Peli peaked her head out of her office. “You got it?” she yelled. “Maybe,” you yelled back, cracking your neck. Peli cringed at the noise and got back to her work.

When you saw the Razor Crest begin to land, your eyes widened. “Peli!” you yelled, motioning for her to come look. The odd feeling in your stomach began to arise. “You alright?” Peli asked, noticing the odd look on your face. You shook your head and brushed her off, patiently waiting for the ship’s owner to emerge.

The hatch hissed open and out emerged a man covered in silver. His armor seemed expensive, almost too expensive to be on Tatooine. “What can I do for you today?” you asked, approaching the being with your tablet and some of your droids.

“No droids,” it said with a booming masculine voice. Taken a bit back, you shooed the droids out of your sight. “My ship needs fixing,” he said, monotone. “Really?” you asked sarcastically.

You could feel his eyes staring at you through the mask. “How much is this going to cost and how long?” he asked, crossing his arms. You put some data into your tablet. “Possibly overnight. Probably run you about 950 credits.”

“Any way you could fix it faster for more credits?”

As he said that, the feeling in your gut started to run through your veins. You felt something familiar yet so foreign. Just then, a little green thing started to tumble down the opened hatch.

“I told you to stay in!” the man yelled, catching this thing in his arms. It just babbled at him, touching his helmet with his tiny green hands. “Is Peli here?” the man asked, setting the thing on the ground. You went to go retrieve Peli from her office. The second you left, the thing starting sobbing. You cringed at it, knocking on her door. As you began to knock, the door flew open and Peli burst out. “Baby!” she yelled, opening her arms and quickly scooping up the thing.

“Mando! It’s so great to have you back. I see you’ve met my new apprentice, Y/N.”

You straightened your posture and smiled. This was the Mando Peli had been telling you about.

“Oh, the sweetest guy came around a few weeks ago. Had a little baby creature, cutest thing. You should meet him, his armor is so handsome.” Peli’s voice rang through your head.

“Nice to meet you.” you said, feeling the heat in your cheeks rise. Peli was right, his armor was handsome.

While Peli and Mando talked about the ship, you were left to babysit the thing.

You sat on the sand floor, playing with certain safe parts with him. “Do you want the blue or the red tube?” you asked it. It cooed at you, extending his hand and making the red tube float towards him. Staring and stunned, you were shocked.

“Peli! Is this thing magic or something?” you yelled, peeking your head behind the crates. “Magic?” Peli yelled back, confused. You heard Mando sigh and make his way quickly over to you.

“He did it?” he asked eagerly, getting down on his knees next to it. “If it means making the red tube float out of my hands into his, then yes.”

Mando stared at you blankly. You could feel it. “D-do you possibly have… the force?” he asked awkwardly. You tipped your head, confused. “What do you mean?” you asked. “She ain’t got the force,” Peli laughed, leaning up against the crates. “Thing’s a myth anyways. Nobody can really move things with their mind.”

You and Mando stared at each other, then the child. He grabbed the blue tube and a green tube and held them in his hands. “Grogu,”

The thing perked up when he said that.

“Take one. Blue or green.” he said, holding up both options in his hands. Grogu stared at him confused for a while, and then wandered into your lap. “See, he won’t do it for me.” Mando sighed, sitting down on his legs.

“Let me try,” you asked, taking the colored tubes from him.

“Grogu,” you said, feeling like it was his name. Again, he perked up. “Blue or green,”

He stared at them for a bit, then reached for the Blue. You, Mando, and Peli all watched the small blue tube fly in the air into the tiny being’s grasps.

“Stars,” Peli said, taken aback. “Yes! Good Grogu!” Mando said, scooping up the child and congratulating him.

“Why is it only with her though? I know why. She’s pretty, isn’t she Grogu?” Peli said, laughing as the child cooed. You blushed, cursing Peli in your mind. “She might be force sensitive.” Mando said. “Force sensitive?” you asked.

“The Jedi who helped me with Grogu told me about it. A half force sort of thing. Do you have a history of Jedi’s in your family?”

When he said that, your heart dropped.

As a child, you had always heard your parents whisper about your dad’s side of the family. The phrase Jedi was thrown around a lot, but was never clarified to you. Suddenly it all made sense. Why your uncle went into exile and was killed. Why nobody ever spoke of your grandfather.

The night went on and you were gathering your things to leave. Peli had decided to stay overnight to help Mando with his ship. As you were grabbing your credits for the day, you felt a hand on your shoulder.

“I saw your work on a speeder last time I was here. It was impressive,” Mando said. You jumped a bit and awkwardly smiled. “Oh, well thank you.” you said, trying to move past him. “You are a very talented worker.” he added. “Thank you,” you repeated yourself. Mando sighed.

“You ever consider moving past here?” he asked. “Past here in what sense?” you asked back. “The kid seems to like you. Your the only one who can get him to do his tricks. You can do good work. My ship almost constantly needs work,” “Are you asking me to work for you?” you asked, setting your bag down on the table. “Peli was okay with it. She is worried for you.” “Worried in what sense?” you laughed. “You don’t get out much, apparently.” Mando replied. You were taken aback a bit. “Ouch,” you chuckled, again cursing Peli in your mind. “I can’t offer many credits but I can offer a place to stay, food, and a fresher. All free.”

“I’ll think about it,” you said, grabbing your bag back and slinging it on your arm. “I would like you to come to your decision before I leave tomorrow.” he asked. “Thank you, Mando.” you said, smiling at him from the door. “Din works,” You looked at him confused. “My name- it’s Din.”

Sitting in your small hut, you contemplated the offer. You’ve never been off planet. Sure, you made a fine life working for Peli but you craved something more. Adventure you had never had in your life before. Din could offer that.

He seemed eager to help his kid. You were apparently the only one that could make him use his tricks- or his power. The final straw was your hut. It was barely large enough for you to even lay down in.

“Shit,” you sighed, moving over in your uncomfortable hut. You knew it would be your last night sleeping in it.

In the morning you gathered all your small belongings. A necklace belonging to your sister, your whole closet (consisting of about 5 pieces in total), and your credits. You locked the hut, leaving your keys and a letter for your landlord. You made the walk back to Peli’s hangar for the last time.

You found Din asleep. At least you thought he was. He was sitting up against the Razor Crest with the sleeping baby in his arms. You were about to clank your stuff on the ground when he rose a finger to where his lips would be.

“Okay,” you said, sitting down next to him. “Okay what?” he asked back. You could hear a yawn erupt from under his mask. “I’ll do it. Count me in.”

The first few weeks on the ship were nerve wracking. Adjusting to Din’s schedule was hard. What he failed to mention when you agreed to begin working for him is that he was a bounty hunter. A goddamn bounty hunter. You kept your mouth shut. You weren’t too keen about his lifestyle, but the credits he gave you were better than he promised.

On the other hand, you had a new best friend. Grogu as you came to learn was Din’s foundling. Din explained most of the Mandalorian Creed to you one night in the middle of a meteor storm. When Grogu would act up, he would mostly only listen to you. The odd sensation of just knowing when something was wrong proved you to be force sensitive.

You and Din were sitting in the cockpit in silence. Grogu was in bed and had been for a while. You were busy watching the stars pass. Even though he kept it to himself, Din found your awe at the galaxy adorable. Suddenly, the feeling in your gut erupted again. Almost knocking your datapad off your lap, you opened the hatch to find Grogu in the kitchen.

He had an onion in his hand about to take a bite. “Put it down.” you said sternly. He turned to look at you, slowly moving the thing to his mouth. You snatched it out of his hand and scooped him up. “No onions. Especially after bed,” you smiled, booping him on the nose as Din watched you two from the pit. He kept internally denying it over and over again. Peli was right about what she said the night he helped her fix his ship.

“She’s a good catch, even a great one. Sweet girl. Always works hard. Very loving. I dunno Mando, I’d watch out for that one. It’s hard to let go once you get attached. I’ve seen too many boys in this dang town swoon over her. Hell, I gotta keep the droids on watch almost constantly!”

You were making dinner. Din was out searching for a bounty as you and Grogu stayed on the ship. He was bound to be back soon, within the hour. The energy between you and Grogu was floating about. He was very hungry, and was angry that his father wasn’t home yet.

He’ll be home soon. I promise. you said to him. No, well, flowed to him. You two didn’t have to say much. He always got what you were thinking, and vice versa.

Frog Grogu communicated back.

“Yes, I know sweet thing. It’s almost done I promise.”

Just as you said that the hatch of the crest whirred open.

You tried to hold back laughter as you set eyes on Din. He was covered with moss and some sort of forign fluid.

“Don’t ask.” he grunted, closing the door to the fresher. You looked at Grogu and together had a small laugh.

Dinner was silent. You ate with Grogu as Din sat and watched the two of you.

What happened? Grogu communicated to you. Making eye contact with him you shrugged.

Beats me. Probably tripped over all that heavy armor and landed face first in a mud pile. You said back to him.

Grogu laughed.

Din sighed, moving his helmet back and forth looking at the two of you.

“Don’t be talking shit. I didn’t hire her to gossip with you, Grogu. Eat your food.” Din said sternly, staring into your eyes. You couldn’t see his, but you knew he was unhappy.

Your smile began to widen as you and Grogu made eye contact. A feeling of giddiness played between you two. The tension rose enough to make you laugh so hardy you choked on your drink.

Din let out a loud sigh. He picked his food up from the table and made his way towards his chambers.

“Oh, come on!” you called after him. “I’m not gonna eat with people who are talking shit about me!” he yelled back.

Grogu smiled at you, devouring another frog.
