Should we burn it or be eating dinner at this table?
Some would reject lumber like this, even consider it fire wood.
We see nature’s hard work, this was one of the largest logs that we have had the pleasure to sawmill, dry and build with. Thanks @legacylumber

Installing Curly Maple Dovetail Keys into a beautiful book matched Walnut table
We do this with a jig & a router
We use a router with a brass busing it follows the jig to create the key as well as the mortise
It’s best to use a down cutting spiral bit but an up spiral will also work.
Round the bottom edge of the keys and just touch the corner of the mortise with a chisel for a great fit
We like to use epoxy here, giving us longer working time and a better “gap filler” just in case….
