It’s My Little Monday!
With…G3 The Pony Project “Disco”!
Another photo from the “Give Kids The World Village” charity project with G3 giant size ponies turns up. This time, it’s “Disco” the well…disco-ball themed pony! As for the usual recap: artists were given huge G3 ponies to turn into works of ar that would be displayed in a gallery, then sold to raise money for charity. These large ponies were much bigger than anything ever sold at retail, but they had fully done white hair, white bodies & traditional pony eyes stamped on.
In this case, whoever did this has covered the entire pony in small square disco ball mirrors and given the hair a tidy style so it wouldn’t lay over the mirror effect. They have set her on a special base so that (very appropriately) she rotates just like a real disco ball would.
However, as you can also see, the quality of the photo isn’t the best. The background suffers from pixelation, this is all the larger it is, and you can’t really tell what’s going on with the eyes. They also cropped off the base where the artists’ name would be and included no photo credit either. Maybe this one was hard to take pictures of because it was so reflective…but whatever the reason, photos of it are so uncommon that this may be the only one.
This one is a fun idea who may have benefited more perhaps from smaller sized mirrors and perhaps to leave the eye as an actual eye so some personality would come through. (Or maybe a better photo would reveal more…) Still she is interesting to see as a part of the project. (Naturally, if any more photos or info comes to light there gets to be either another post, or this one gets amended)
