It’s My Little Monday!
With…G3 Pony First Version Toola Roola!
This is an interesting one, first off because people will see and say ‘that’s not toola roola’. But why? Because this is how she ORIGINALLY looked/how the character was originally designed. They then took her name and gave it to a completely different looking pony much later in the line, and made that one a part of the ‘core 7 / ‘bore 7′ characters and proceeded to re-release it multiple times in the hopes of them catching on. (It did not, and the line ended*) So, there’s 2 very different ponies with the same name, on the same line from the same era. Not great planning.
And it’s not like ‘toola roola’ is the best name on earth? It’s a nonsense word or a song lyric type thing like “Sha-la-la-la” where they’re just doing syllables to go with the music and it’s not a word for anything. There was no real reason to re-use it later on.
But why else is the pony interesting?
Her colors are very “g3″ of course involving pink and white and the shimmery skin, so she’s quite representative of the early era of G3 ‘cool-colored’ ponies. (Sweetberry & etc follow this as well) However, she’s the only one on the whole of G3 with an actual Celtic Symbol on there. That’s a type of ‘knot’, similar to the Triskelion, which is sometimes a symbol for eternal life. (It has no hearts on the original Celtic symbol, those are just for her symbol) Buddhism also has a similar item. Was someone doodling, or did they deliberately add a Celtic knot to pony? Either way, it’s a fun bit of trivia and makes this one more collectible.
Certainly go collect this one if you like her look, the name mix-up & the interesting symbol are going to contribute to her being uncommon in the future most likely so get her while she is cheap now in 2022.
*The “Bore 7″, in which, Hasbro tried to take g3 which was based on ‘grab tons of characters just like pokemon!’ and turn it into ‘there are only 7 pokemon that is enough for you just buy the same 7 over and over again’.

With…G3 Pony Moondancer!
Yes, this one does share the same name with the G1 pony, however they look nothing alike. Moondancer was a play pack pony, where she came with lots of items for a slumber party. This made her more costly than regular ponies, and she was only released (probably) twice. The accessories included things like bunny slippers, radio that played music, blanket, nokia-looking cellphone, and food/drink among others.
She’s a frosty-cool color of blue (which G3 quite enjoyed, a few have a similar color) with mild yellow hair and a simple smiling moon/’1950s style’ stars & blue ‘sky’ shape. The stylization of the moon and the blob shape for the sky/stars gives the symbol quite a retro feel. (Oddly several G3s crib at retro ‘space age’ design points–it’s not understood how or why they’d choose the era to design from)
The frosty blue plastic is especially lovely because of that signature G3 shimmer dust that many of them have. It lends an icy, fantasy tone and helps her match with her hair color. The eye color is an interesting choice: pink and aqua, which are nowhere else in her design. She’s in ‘the diva pose’, making her seem like an elegant character. Notice the hoof heart is a middling yellow: they were not afraid to spend on multiple inks that don’t appear more than once.
She was an early favorite on the line!
Fans were stirred up over her name (wishing for the original G1 to return), but she won people over with her fun accessories and lovely color scheme. She also appeared in the G3 cartoons at least twice. I love blue ponies, and this one is no exception: she’s great! A dreamy character with a peaceful look. Pick her up if you can! (You don’t want her to end up expensive later–which she likely will because not everyone wanted to splurge on the accessory-pack pony)

It’s My Little Monday!
With…Playtime Baby Brother Leaper!
He’s another less-common sight…so it’s cheerful to see him here with his silly froggy symbol. The Playtime Baby Brothers were a set of all male babies who also used the “Peek a Boo” neck gimmick from the Peek a Boo set (which was mixed). So, as you can see here, his head is turned and in different positions for each photo to show off the pose-able effect. It’s a simple enough gimmick, and it looks decent enough from most angles. The body mold for PAB also gives them the ankle hair of a big brother, and cute more active poses. From the shape of the face and the feet, you can also tell that this is a boy pony.
Leaper himself has a bright, very ‘spring’ cute color theme with yellow hair and a springy green body. He has a silly smiling cartoon frog symbol. The eye color choice is interesting…it’s purple…which…somehow works for him? It’s another of those color combos that ‘shouldn’t work’ but then does. Also notice that he has blush AND a row of brown freckles for his face.
His back card story has friendly frogs teaching how to jump higher and higher. He eventually learns to leap so high he can touch the clouds. This amazes the frogs, so he tells them to hop onto him and he will leap up with them to show how high they can go.
His story is somewhat inspiring, with friends getting rewarded for helping & a concrete goal/conclusion. Do note that some ponies can physically touch/stand on clouds so leaping up there to them makes ‘sense’ in context. (As, things like the weather, sun, moon, stars & rainbows are sometimes tangible characters that can be pleased or motivated)
It is unfortunate then, that Leaper is uncommon and expensive. He is rarely for sale, and when he is, he’s costly. However, his condition is usually all right (not suffering from plastic diseases, etc) Frogs are very cute! It is nice to see a green frog pony and adding him to the collection brings a splash (and a hop) of bright color.

It’s My Little Monday!

The charity (Give Kids the World Village) sponsored MLP professional artist gallery show returns to My Little Monday with yet another pony. This one is “Junie Moon Autumn” pony, and she’s been customized with nice earth tone colors and lace. The pony is kind of a beige skin color, with a brown velvet dress, lace cape, fur collar, and lace decor for her forehead. In the brown bow is a little crown. They added eyelashes in 3D/hair for her upper lids. It looks like the eye may be decorated with gems or something, but it’s too hard to see at the angle of the photos. Her hair has been kept white, tied into buns, and has gold ribbon added. More lace and beadwork surround each foot.
Look at the back leg: it looks like there’s some tiny text there near the bottom. Maybe it’s a signature? Working with a giant pony like this makes it easier to use more normal materials and easier to work with as well (in some ways) Items like cloth, lace and faux fur look better often at normal/human sizes rather than miniature. Everything here looks to scale, and she seems to have a calming theme. Presumably, the photo was taken by the artist, but there is no label on anything (again). As is also the usual, this one can re-appear if more information is found/added.

It’s My Little Monday!
With…G1 Bed Time Newborn Baby Stargaze!
Another cute but less common sight is this Bedtime Newborn. There were 3 of these, but they were Europe only releases. This may be the least common of the 3. She is very cute, in quite a bold dark blue. The pink hair and pink eyes are a good contrast for it, as is her yellow symbol. She’s appropriately named, as the star is indeed gazing: there’s a cute smiley face on the larger star.
A very well done & solid design for pony.
The dark blue is ‘night time’ like, and a good bold change of pace from ‘baby pastel’. The name/symbol combo is great too, and something about this pose is very earnest and charming. The expression is pleasant and calm.
The backcard story is the same for all 3 of them (as was common in this era) and tells that the trio were excited to go to the nursery for bed time, but no one wanted to sleep until Baby Stargaze told a story about magic ponies. So she did, and they went to sleep. It is also the usual that the ‘story’ doesn’t amount to very much & the art they used always depicts the ponies as dog/hippopotamus hybrids. The artist, being ever-desperate to depict them with eyes on the front of the face and keep the huge nose.
All 3 of the Bedtimes are wonderful to collect, with lovely bold colors, simple but cute/fitting symbols and of course…newborns are 100% adorable. Sadly they’re rather costly because they were toward the end of the line and the USA didn’t get them on shelves. (It took me years to finally finish the set by getting this one–but she is worth it!)

Upon deboxing her (when she was new, years ago) the hair went into this configuration, and I just left it that way because it looks pretty good. Her name may be a bit silly, and it really doesn’t go with her symbol at all, but she’s still quite a pretty pony, with an almost tropical look. Notice the pink hair, they’ve chosen an interesting matte color for it. (G3 introduced matte hair with their now-famous & beautiful matte white) The matte pink is lesser-used/known. It creates an interesting look for her tail, where it’s mixed with the yellow and almost makes it orange-ish somehow.  Her symbol is a cloud with 3 different sizes of stars. Also notice that she has the glitter horn and ‘glitter forehead’ that some of them just randomly were given.
Her pose is nice and active.
There’s something slightly dreamy about it? Or relaxed somehow? Being later in the line, her head can turn naturally. This also (unfortunately) points out that only having the symbol on one side is a detriment to her–she’d look great faced either way with this pose, but lack of symbol prevents it. It’s too bad there weren’t more G3 unicorns. The horn is different from G1 but it is extremely fitting and perfectly G3 styled. She’s a very pretty and creatively done character, nobody else resembles her.
She did appear in the G3 special Runaway Rainbow. She is described as a ‘very girly’ character. (By this point the box-backs didn’t give the characters a story, it was just birthday, favorite gem/flower/color) Collect this one while you can! As G3 ages, the price only goes up and she is less common, for being at the end of the line.

It’s My Little Monday!
With…G3 The Pony Project “Disco”!
Another photo from the “Give Kids The World Village” charity project with G3 giant size ponies turns up. This time, it’s “Disco” the well…disco-ball themed pony! As for the usual recap: artists were given huge G3 ponies to turn into works of ar that would be displayed in a gallery, then sold to raise money for charity. These large ponies were much bigger than anything ever sold at retail, but they had fully done white hair, white bodies & traditional pony eyes stamped on.
In this case, whoever did this has covered the entire pony in small square disco ball mirrors and given the hair a tidy style so it wouldn’t lay over the mirror effect. They have set her on a special base so that (very appropriately) she rotates just like a real disco ball would.
However, as you can also see, the quality of the photo isn’t the best. The background suffers from pixelation, this is all the larger it is, and you can’t really tell what’s going on with the eyes. They also cropped off the base where the artists’ name would be and included no photo credit either. Maybe this one was hard to take pictures of because it was so reflective…but whatever the reason, photos of it are so uncommon that this may be the only one.
This one is a fun idea who may have benefited more perhaps from smaller sized mirrors and perhaps to leave the eye as an actual eye so some personality would come through. (Or maybe a better photo would reveal more…) Still she is interesting to see as a part of the project. (Naturally, if any more photos or info comes to light there gets to be either another post, or this one gets amended)

It’s My Little Monday!
With Hairdo Pony Beautiful Bows!
The Hairdos were later on in the line of G1, and were a Europe only release…which is unfortunate because as you can see here, they’re quite pretty with two gimmicks instead of one. (There are 3 of them in their set) She has a really thick, bright and lovely pearly coating for her body and it does not go over her eyes (the pearly baby set they didn’t bother to mask the eyes so they don’t look as good) The pearlization is the best they ever did on any set of ponies, by far. Every one of this group that you find will always have this excellent quality sheen and it isn’t too fragile, either.
The other (and main) gimmick is their super style-able hair. Not only is it very long, but she has 3 rows of hair for the mane (so, thicker than usual), bangs, AND a horizontal row behind the bangs that combs back to help form styles. Next, there is a rubber covered wire set into the neck and into the tail. The tail one shares the hole with the hair & has a sculpted bow on the end. The mane one is a separate punched hole in the neck and it has a jewel-textured end with clamped fabric to create the bow. You can bend these wires around the hair to create different styles. Her symbol is appropriate, 2 ribbon hair bows.
She’s quite the stand-out character isn’t she!
Hot orange and purple hair, shiny yellow pearl body & totally 80s spatter paint pink/green bow in her big hair with her 80s bangs too.  I love ponies like this who are quite of the era and wild styled as well. Both gimmicks are well thought out and sturdy while being fun to play with. The shiny pony and loads of hair would make this an instant hit on store shelves.
She came with a special comb that had an oval mirror on top and the comb part as the mirror’s base. These are now outrageously expensive because only the hairdos had them & they had nothing ‘pony’ marked on them. Oddly, they didn’t come with anything else (like you’d think barrettes or ribbons or something) The backcard story is the same for all 3, with Starlight going to a hair salon and Bangles looking at a magazine (in the salon) while they say they are excited to get a new hair style. So……it’s another non-story really a barely-interaction at all which seems a bit typical of the later EU era back-cards. (Also their art has the artist who wanted to draw their faces more like dogs/make their bodies piggy and fat instead of the usual artist who had it more looking like the toys)
Despite the box, she is an amazing addition to any collection…if you can find her (Or her pals Bangle & Starlight…each one is so pretty) Clearly a lot of good thought & design were put into these!

It’s My Little Monday!
With…G1 Pony Goodweather the Holiday Pony!
Goodweather here is another less-common sight. She was a Europe only release pony (which contributes to her uncommonness) and she was also an accessory pack pony: sold in a box (rather than carded) with fun accessories for a day at the beach. However, this made her cost more than others at the time, so not everyone was going to own her. Both of these make her less common to find today.
What did she come with? The word ‘holiday’ (in the USA) implies Christmas/New years, but in Europe it can refer to “Going on vacation”, which is the case with Goodweather here. She was set for a day at the beach with an umbrella, radio, towel, bucket, shove, cups, fishy shape comb, sunglasses beach ball and toy starfish. She also had a plastic clear hot pink bag, but that was able to stain pony skin so it’s not a good idea for her to carry it.
The picture on her box-back is not of her: it is of her prototype which had her in Gingerbread/Sky Rocket pose. Her story doesn’t make much sense either, it basically just describes her sending a post card and tells you that she travels. It implies she can get rid of rainy weather by whispering her own name but because it isn’t that well written…who knows. It isn’t particularly a story, even.
She’s a good bright and pretty pony.
Another with a very ‘classic’ or nostalgic feel, the old-fashion smiley sun helps with that type of look. (Looks like a 60s or 70s music festival type graphic going on there with it) With ‘the sun’ or other sky objects often being characters in the back card stories, it makes sense for her to have this character-type sun for her symbol. She’s over-all cute and fun–good to collect if you can come across her for a reasonable rate.

It’s My Little Monday!
With…G3 Pony Flower Wishes!
When MLM falls on or near a special day, often a special pony will (try to) appear at that time…and Flower Wishes makes sense here with the first day of spring. She is SO pretty! There’s just something about how all of her colors combine to make more than the sum of it, somehow.
The body is a perfectly sunny yellow color with that subtle shimmer that lots of G3s had. But then the hair is such a strange combination that you’d think it wouldn’t work…then it does. Like, orange with magenta and then frosted blue?? It seems bonkers on paper/like it would never work, but then those colors swirling in her mane and tail are so lovely. Even her symbol is like that. A garden trowel and watering can are just boring tools…no one ever said “oh what a pretty trowel”, but I guess the color of the can, the adorable little flower & how “at home” the whole presentation seems to be sort of elevates it?
Her eye color in dark purple and sky blue is nice, as is her hoof-heart in a good pink. THIS is an example of how you can get a really cool looking character when someone’s not yanking on the purse-strings trying to “Slim down” the features and cut every corner. You’ve got either EIGHT or NINE whole colors of paint on her…10 counting the eye PLUS 4 stripes of completely different color for the hair. A designer was allowed to design here and it paid off. Her wishful and serene pose is also very appropriate and makes sense with her name and her symbol. An excellent G3, would completely recommend collecting.
This one came with bunny ears and bunny tail because “Sort of Easter but we’re going to say spring”. She was born in March & loves Sapphires. Interestingly, her back card art is not nearly as pretty as she is.
*This is another pony who I really enjoy but never ever would have thought of to design. From the hair color choices to the symbol, none of it is ever what I would pick and that makes it even more interesting to really like her.

It’s My Little Monday!
With…The Half-Pony Bag: Blossom!
Now, here’s an interesting old piece of merchandise. It’s not a half-penny-bag, it’s a half-pony bag. It’s a canvas tote bag, with exactly half a pony on it. It is an uncommon thing, and there were apparently more than just 1 character (in this case, it’s Blossom) used.
The half-pony here is very interesting to look at because it was created from a strange mold that only produces the right half of the pony. You can’t see it here, but, she has no neck seam, the head is not separate as it is with all other ponies. The legs are not fully formed, they are also half legs, as she only goes to a little past mid-point (see how the mane is in the close up) This IS life-size, she is the same size as a regular pony, and made of the same materials. She is held to the bag by sturdy threads that pierce through special holes in her close to the edge.
Is this a good idea? I guess it is? The pony doesn’t look wierd/deformed or unfortunate (as sometimes like…decapitated plush heads or other wacko ideas do) and it gives you a collectible bag that you could brush and style like a regular pony. In it’s day, in the 80s, ‘going green’ wasn’t as big of a deal so cloth totes weren’t everywhere or highly promoted.
I used to own this bag, but traded it away long ago for regular ponies because I am not particularly a merchandise collector. I don’t particularly regret it, though I do wish the camera at the time had been better in order to collect better photos of the bag. An interesting piece for My Little Monday!

It’s My Little Monday!
With…G3 The Pony Project 64 Colors Lucky!
Another one from the charity art project, this giant pony is named either 64 Colors Lucky, or that’s who customized it and took the photo. Because information is scarce, that’s the only credit for this one so far. This one has the theme of wood. You can see painted on wood-grain, knot-areas and sprites or ghosts or something in the ‘gaps’. There are ‘roots’ on the face and a ghost girl or something on one of the front legs. They left the hair original/white wavy, but re-detailed out the eye to a quite realistic looking one. Notice the little acorn nut character on the forehead too.
Why the woodgrain is so pink (it’s reminiscent of flesh??) The face seems to be like a mask of some sort…notice the ‘rust’ running down it. The 2 left photos at the bottom show it in process at the studio…another unusual find. It would be very interesting to know the artist explanation or story for the chosen theme of this pony. It would also be nice to have better side-on photos to be able to see the whole thing and to know what the symbol is…
But, as is the usual with these: this one’s short on photos as well as info which is too bad.

It’s My Little Monday!
With…The Beddy Bye Eye Ponies!
Now here’s a…controversial group of babies. The BBE babies were Hasbro’s attempt to make blink eye dolls out of ponies. When you lay them down, the eyes go shut, as is the usual with this type of toy. However, somewhere between the design and the execution they…..didn’t go so well.
So then why did the Twinkle Eye ponies succeed so well?
Because the TEs didn’t have anything else about them changed, other than the eye being a gemstone. If you look at these you’ll see oddly long/stretched out necks, sparse hairlines, pinched looking faces, shabby sculpting for the pegasus wings, and the fact that the eyes are tiny with obvious rimmed sockets. (They are given makeup despite them being babies to soften the look of the upper ‘lid’ for the eye) So it isn’t that they have blink eyes, it’s everything else that went along with it that reduced their appeal and made them an unpopular gimmick set back in the day.
It’s also what drives the prices of the “NBBE” (NON-beddy) versions of the characters up so high. The last photo shows nbbe Heart Throb next to her BBE version, and it’s easy to see why people will spend 100 or more to get her. Sadly, Baby Sundance and Baby Ribbon (like Baby Frosting) never got a regular version in the US or EU.
The eyes are the traditional doll-blink eye which means a hard plastic blue chip in a white metal setting. They had no other eye color than blue–and of course, the metal would rust when kids washed them too much making the whole eye bleary, reddish brown or fused open/shut. They do have eyelashes, but they are always black. There are pony-community services like ‘de-bbbe’ where you can hire someone to sculpt over the face, or eye-de-rusting for damaged ones.
“Creepy Dolls are Cool”
Lots of critics say they’re creepy, (that is an opinion) but instead of creepy I just get kind of…poorly executed sad looking product from seeing these. I DO approve of freaky-fabulous dolls, creeperiffic Monster Highs, haunt-coture customs done with whatever dolls/ponies & etc., but those are works of art done by designers who care and want to make something spooky cool while the BBE is just ‘wow whoops’.

It’s My Little Monday!
With…G1 Pony Cascade!
Here’s another less-common sight. Pretty and peaceful Cascade was a Europe exclusive pony. Their WaterFall Playset didn’t come with Sprinkles, it came with this pony instead. The playset was also green for the ‘ground’ instead of white. The original was meant to look like “a waterfall in the clouds” with a happy sun and rainbow. The Cascade Waterfall though, was meant to look like it was in the treetops or on green hills, but with the same cloud/rainbow/sun for the sort of backdrop.
Cascade makes sense with the more ‘grounded’ playset instead of pegasus pony Sprinkles. (Her color also matched it a little more) She’s very classic looking somehow, with her simple colors and pretty waterfalls pattern. Her eyes are indeed purple, which is an interesting choice given her middle-green hair and yellow body. (But somehow it seems fitting instead of clashing?)
It’s too bad, but she’s uncommon and costly now.
Most playset ponies are, because they weren’t sold separately, and were thus more expensive (by quite a bit) upon release. This one was an Xmas gift, and had been on the wants-list for quite some time. She’s very calming and pretty in person…an excellent example of a very classic pony design.

Another photo from the Pony Project appears…and this is all the resolution that it has. So, you can’t read the symbol nor the words on the pyramid. The name of the artist or the work is also not known.
This is the usual giant size G3 pony, but whoever did it has customized it to blue with 2 white bands on each leg. The hair was left white and has been braided and tied with black ribbons. The pony has been glued to a wooden rocker base, turning her into a ‘rocking horse’ toy for the plush pyramid happy character to ride on and hug. They changed the eye to solid black and white, and added a bright pink solid blush mark for each cheek.
It’s an ok design: clearly they had the character set up/in mind and then added a fun toy to enjoy the character’s rocking ability. It would be interesting to know what is written on the pyramid.
The charity this benefited was Give Kids the World Villiage in 2012. There were supposed to be something like 25 of these done, but it seems like there were more than just what appeared in the Toy Gallery 1 Night Event Art Show (and were then sold to raise money). Characters keep popping up that were never in the original photos from the gallery. Sometimes someone can chip in with info once it’s posted here though…in which case she’d re-appear with more info and more photos.
*There are so many of these that they’re taking over MLM, so considering having a day of the week for them that is separate. Also they’re about to get super weird and somewhat inappropriate.

Now here’s a real bold choice! The Color Swirl ponies appeared in Year 10, which was late in the line, but the ideas were wild and wonderful at this time. The Colorswirls were some of the top-wildest ponies they ever made. If you own this pony, you’ll know she’s an even brighter, hotter pink than what the camera shows here. This set had the same pattern of colored stripes for their face and body. (All 3 of them are different colors, but the pattern is always the same) Each also has a symbol in a square of color with small symbols surrounding it.
So what’s their deal?
For a long time, it was guessed that they were “Pony Aliens” (this is before the internet, you know…and even for a while backcards were very uncommon and so were scanners & you couldn’t easily just take a photo and upload it!) which makes perfect sense with what looks like very obvious ‘alien writing symbols’ there in the 4 corners (some characters of which do repeat on the others, as if words!) and the abstract item in the color square. In Springy’s case it’s a spiral (appropriate name) but Lovebeam sure does seem to have a UFO on there and “Beam Me Up” also adds fuel to the theory.
What’s the story?
Their backcard story is all the same for all 3, which was an anti-feature of Year 10, and it featured the 3 friends going looking for where the rainbow got its colors from, walking along a rainbow & finding a magical color-swirling pool of water. They are hot from the journey, go in for a swim, and come out with the colors you see here. So, it mentions nothing about their mysterious symbols. It is impossible to tell the original design intent.
But that makes her no-less fabulous. The stripe over one eye, the bold green eyes with the hot-hot pink, and even the ‘brides’ pose’ contributes to the excellent aesthetic they have going here with Springy. All of these are amazing, 100% got to collect….but sadly are rather costly.

It’s My Little Monday!
With…The Pony Project Doki Doki Colorful Rebellion by “6% Doki Doki”!
These TPP large artist ponies will be posted as more are discovered. Somehow, there doesn’t seem to have been actual, good, published photography coverage of the 1 Night Only art-show/gallery that these were all collected together in. You’d think someone would have wanted it recorded all in 1 place. There were some unknown amount of these, some say 25 because 25 years, some say more because not all them made it into the show/etc. But, what can be agreed upon is that they’re interesting to look at.
A single photo of this one has appeared on a previous MLM, but this gives the best look yet at the project. The symbol, is of course the “6% Doki Doki” brand logo and only on one side which makes sense with the era/style. The eyes have shooting star gems for their pattern, and they did add false eyelashes (they are 3D nylon strips) Notice the tiny gems behind the eye on the face.
She is dressed as a Japanese colorful fashion girl inspired by “Harajuku Style” where there are mis-matched socks, loads of barrettes regardless of hair style, lots of bright colors and pattern mixing. The hair is a very bright colorful mixture, and she has the expected ‘hairy knee-socks’ that sometimes go along with the style. The necklace is actually a brand item too.
This is a fun one, and it’s good to know the artists’/brand name and that they were the one taking the photos too.
The helpful Tumblr kiramaipink adds
“hihi!!this pony, by the way, her cutie mark actually says 6% DokiDoki! that’s a big decora-focused brand in harajuku, and the pony is actually wearing a necklace from that brand. her clothes are also inspired by looks they’ve produced in the past their logo was used for her mark and it’s the same logo they often sell on tin badges! “

It’s My Little Monday!
With…G3 art pony AND Convention Pony!
This is in a bit of response to “Whatever happened to…” As you’ve seen on earlier MLMs, there were the really large “The Pony Project” charity artist ponies, but, there was another very large pony mold made and done first! And, it’s this one! As you remember, all of TPP ones are standing with all feet flat and the head straight. The bottom pony is artist-designed on semi-transparent plastic. This alternate-big-one was seldom used (why? It’s so pretty!) but it seems like only 2 really big molds were ever done. Hasbro liked the art so well/the look of the pony that they actually did do a run of her.
The top one is her from her exclusive convention run. When Hasbro had teamed up with/endorsed “The Pony Fair”, they promised everyone an all new pony every year that they would attend. It was to be a G3 in a fancy box similar to this one. Several of these were done, but this one seems to be the only one who had a ‘big size artist’ counterpart. It’s very interesting that they kept the sprays, semi-transparent plastic and the hair colors identical. (And that they didn’t try to cheap out) The only thing different seems to be the size and the pose. (The pose for all convention ponies was the “Hanger-hoof/bore-7 pose”) Is there only 1 of the huge one? (Probably) I do wonder where it went…
Reminder: The charity was “Give kids the world village” and the big ones were 18 inches each. This one was PROBABLY not part of TPP, or it was some kind of ‘proto-try’ at what a big pony turns out like. She’s pretty with the magenta and maroon hair, plus the pretty sprays. The art on her is ‘pop art’ kind of, which is nice if you like the style. You can see why this one would get chosen to become a convention exclusive.

It’s My Little Monday!
With…G3 Proto Pony Project!
Every so often another of the “Pony Project” photos show up, and this is a case of that, but it’s more unknown than usual. As you can see, this is another of the “Giant G3s”, but it wasn’t given to an artist for the charity project, it seems to be something Hasbro itself did. Here, it is seen at a convention. (Photographer is unknown, title is unknown, where is unknown)
Why did they make it? Was it going to be turned small and used as a convention exclusive? The intricate design resembles a bit of the style for the Black/Blue one or maybe a bit the ‘dandelion’ convention exclusive G3s. The color, a good magenta bordering on a bit of burgundy, resembles a bit of Cheerilee/Sakura, especially with the dark pink/light pink hair blend. Notice that her eye doesn’t use black, it’s just all pinks/darker pinks.
There are hidden shapes among her designs. You can find a hot air balloon, a butterfly, a tea pot, a strawberry and her heart shape seems to be an abstracted lady bug (it has a face) She’s really interesting to see, so one must wonder what happened to her if she did not get to be part of “The Pony Project” ? She is highly likely to be one of a kind. (But who’s that next to her?) This is certainly an interesting (and uncommon photo) to see.

It’s My Little Monday!
With a Christmas Custom Crew…bringing holiday wishes to you!
There’s HQG1C Lil’ Holly & Brother CandyCane, a Snow-Tiger white and gold elegant pony, Glitter Garland a TAF-style prancing pony, Pretty Poinsettia a gradient TAF-style, Christmas-Tree Princess (she needs a name) a dark pine-forest & gold dragon pal and NEW glitter n’ gold sparkle pony. (Don’t forget a teeny tinsel one there at the bottom, though)
Christmas is an absolutely super holiday for pony symbols. You could make a near infinite number of themed ponies with all the fun stuff associated with the holiday. It can range from kid-fun to lovely-elegance too, so it’s never short on variety. Coming up with Christmas ideas has actually inspired me to try and keep it going all year long. There are just too many good ideas to make in a single season!
Lots of pony fans (me included) decorate with ponies. There were loads of G3 “Holiday” characters, and G1 had an all right share as well. They usually get their own little tree and display area.
Every one here is in the A Horse of Every Color Etsy shop, if you needed a closer look, or want to add a custom character to the holiday display.
