I found them at a thrift store for 5 dollars (with tags!!) after wanting them for years but I could never bring myself to spend 50+ dollars on a beanie baby.. but here they are! I couldn’t believe my eyes! I thought maybe this post would make everyone feel a little happier today, and a reminder not to give up on that old/retired/expensive plush you’ve been wanting! three days into having it and i’m already questioning my new psychological dragon kintype again (how much is it really me? is it truly at all?) – i’ve always felt connected to dragons ever since i discovered the dragonology books as a child, but i always chalked it up to wanting to be a dragon-rider or something like that, it wasn’t until recently i started considering a different perspective. could i have some advice/input from established dragonkin individuals on this site so i can compare my experiences to theirs? please and thank you.

Sorry I’m so late to this, I’ve been very low on brain cells for actual thorough replies to things of late.
I can say I wanted to be a dragon rider/Friend Of Dragons for a very long time before my awakening - maybe because I didn’t even consider that being a dragon was an option until I ran across other people who were, and that was the next best thing. The delineation between “wanting to be close to dragons” and “wanting to be a dragon” isn’t necessarily as clear-cut as we’d like. (Hells, I’d still leap at the chance to be a dragon rider, at least in a world where that isn’t horrifically unethical in one way or another.)
I’ve seen you around enough that you’ve probably heard the usual questioning advice, so I’ll skip the spiel and instead say: if the sentence I am a dragon feels Right to you, if it brings you joy and reflects how you experience yourself, then claim it. If you’re not sure, there’s nothing wrong with claiming it for a while and then seeing if it fits better after an adjustment period to get used to the idea or if it continues to chafe.
If you want to compare notes, I have a “journaling” tag that’s just me talking about my own experiences. And if you want to chat about it, be that asking questions or throwing spaghetti at a wall until something sticks, my DMs are open.
Finally got around to making demon form designs for Cas’ reversed and somewhat reversed ends. Fleshier dragon = LESS SAD (tbh not sad at all just thriving)

Ok so i have like three different reversed “ends” for Cas/Valdemar, two of which include Cas going FULL LIZARDO MODE and i think it’s tremendously sexy of her.
1st dragon is Castor’s demon form after taking Valdemar up on their offers to make her a bit sturdier and more long-lasting. Overall its not really a reversed scenario? The fiends are thriving, Cas is still mostly herself, just a bit more ruthless and short with people. Typical demon stuff. Similar to Valdemar, she exudes a suffocating aura, severely dampening the fire element; her breath is a current of magical energy, but she mostly depends on her casting skills and overpowering foes physically/using her suffocating presence.
The Lich-wyrm is the worst outcome for Cas, being the final stage of her transformation in Julian’s/my fan Valdemar route reversed ends. She rejects Val’s deals and they take the matters into their own hands, unwilling to let Cas get old and die on them; They cause the Conjunction and reign as an eldritch god over the merged realms, which doesnt go over well with Castor. She becomes hellbent on destroying her evil ex and much like Jules, begins to transform into her patron arcanas reversed form. She disposes of everyone and everything in her way indiscriminately, and after finally tearing Valdemar asunder her transformation accelerates - in the end Cas is little more than a frenzied, burned out version of the Knight of Swords. She (or rather IT at that point) scourges the realm until the charred body disintegrates completely.
(3rd reversed end doesnt include dragons, but plague zombies which is also good imo. Valdemar manages to turn Cas into an undead thrall before Asra can joink her plagued bod. Shes basically like the “ok honey” meme. Very resigned with zero free will, forced to serve as Valdemars toy soldier)
