Apart from the joy of writing a story by making up situations, characters, scenes and other fantasy, part of that joy comes from using good tools.
One of those tools is my iPad or Mac, but what I enjoy even more is using my vintage fountainpens. Just this week I received these two beauty’s from the past. An Élysée Finesse (the one on the top) and a Parker 45 GT. The first from the late 80’s, early 90’s, the latter from the seventees.
As writing is a form of art, so may the tools be that you perform it with. Nothing beats the feel of a good polished golden nib on paper while creating your story, making notes or doing research. And above that, what can be more durable then a fountainpen? So stop throwing used plastic pens in the environment and treat yourself to a nice fountainpen, a converter and a bottle of ink (which can also be works of art!). These things last forever! Even the pens I own from the 50’s write as if they just left the store..
Expensive? No, doesn’t have to be, at all. Find a secondhand one, or just buy a Lamy, or Parker new.. Ali E sells a bunch of nice pens also, for a song..!
