Blythe and Eaton needed a more recent picture, so behold!

… I have no idea what this pose is, please go with it. I could not decide what to do throughout the whole thing, someone help me. X’D

I did a lighting study with Eaton (and gave myself trouble with literally every aspect of it. The pose, the lineart, the colouring, my goodness … X’D Anywee, it’s done now.)

My favourite part is the dusty light in the background, hehe! >=3

Ok, ok, these are the last recent sketches. XD

1. Captains bullying each other, just a normal day, really

2. Ever respectable Jin, taking a break and munching on some bread because he deserves it

3. Ahh, I was trying to practice drawing motion/weight … But I got distracted and ended up drawing the compass I got for Christmas instead. X’D

My favourite sketches out of these ones have got to be the expressions at the top. XD

1. I like to call these ones “I’m not mad, just disappointed” and “If you don’t stop that I will slice you into a sardine sundae”

2. … Ahh, these ones … They’re pretty rough. Need practice. X’D Gotta get better at hugs and hair .. movement.

3. And a little Jin that I liked. (A REALLY little Jin, it’s like the size of my finger)

Wee, some sketches! (Part 1)

Mostly just of Blythe and Eaton annoying each other and everyone around them, now that I look at it … X’D I’ll post more of Jin and Garin in the next one, since I’ve been drawing them, too.

1. If you can’t physically hurt your rival since you’re working together, providing them with minor annoyances works, too

2. Or providing them with actual annoyances

3. Garin is tired … in many ways

4. I wanted to flesh out the differences in the eyes. It’s Eaton, Blythe, Jin, and Garin’s.

I was playing around with Screen (layer mode) with the lighting and it worked pretty well, hohoho

I think I know what my characters look like until I try to draw a reference sheet for them and then … nada. IB

This was a challenge to do, but I feel like I understand how to draw Eaton Clairemont a fair bit better now. XD It was surprisingly a really good exercise! I’m doing a reference sheet for Blythe, too, so I’ll post that next week.

I was going to do one of these for each of the crew, but … nah. Nah man. Nope. X’D That was a lot of work. Until I get closer to actually DRAWING the comic as opposed to WRITING it, reference sheets of just these 2 will do for now!

I also tried used some character models for the different standing poses, too, so that was also good practice! And the weapons are really fun to draw!! I’ve been trying to decide on Eaton’s sword and ring designs for a while, so it’s nice to finally have them decided. XD

There’s Eaton, Blythe, Jin, Garin, Jess, Noa, Hazel … Uhhh, was that all?? I meant to post some pictures I drew recently of Crab, too, but I ran out of space. XD There are a couple of others that didn’t make it into the post, as well.

You might recognise some of these guys from previously, but I’ve really tried to flesh them out lately as I work more and more on the actual story script! So that’s a pretty cool development …!!
