Sometimes I remember that Scarface and The Golden Girls are both set in 1980s Miami, and the idea of what an interaction between Tony Montana and Dorothy, Sophia, Rose and Blanche might look like makes me happy
They’re Together Again…
Rest in Peace Betty White. You will be missed, I hope you are with your love once again ❤️
Rip Estelle Getty (1923-2008), Bea Arthur (1922-2009), Rue McClanahan (1934-2010) and Betty White (1922-2021).
I can’t tell you how many hours of Golden Girls I’ve watched in my life. I don’t even like traditional sitcoms usually, but the reruns I got into as a teenager. And even having no life experience then to relate to some 50ish and older divorced and widowed women all shacking up as roomies, the writing and maybe even more importantly their line deliveries always got to me. It had no right to be as funny as it was and still is.
Betty was the last one left. This was only one show in a multitude of things they’d all been great at through their long careers. But that show was the one that stuck out personally for me. So that’s what I think of. RIP ladies. You were a part of our cultural history for so many reasons. And I hope you get remembered for your talents and charity for a long time to come.
I’m in a super-fun GG group on FB and the current trend are these fun rhyming memes. So, this was my contribution!
