Each Defender has a human engineer assigned to them. Engineers are usually found at control consoles looking through the Defender’s eyes and providing them information. They are also required to be deployed if their Defender sustains a quickly fixable injury. Engineers are assigned to their defender when the defender is created and remain assigned until the defender’s destruction or the engineer’s death or retirement.
Calm, easygoing, and a little prideful, Jesse-09 is a long distance defender. She prefers to sit back on a nearby hill, or building if necessary, and fire large rounds towards enemy armor. She likes tooting her own horn about her nearly perfect accuracy score on the simulation, much to many others chagrin. She has a habit of always holding a bullet between her teeth, Cait doing her best to knock it out when she has the chance.
Her weapon of choice is the MAR-150 sniper rifle. The massive rifle launches large rounds thousands of feet puncturing and destroying anything that it’s pointed at. Jesse also has an active camo hooded poncho, a prototype that CEN tested with her while attempting to develop large scale, flexible active camo.
Reckless, unpredictable, and a little crazy, Vicky-08 is an adrenaline junkie. She’s one to fight first, strategize later. Though her eagerness to charge blindly into battle was quite the issue at first, she’s learned to tone it down in certain situations. Whenever she’s not wrestling with Cait or in the repair bay, Vicky is usually running the training simulations. Each time Vicky gets a heavy injury, she begs the general to let her keep it as a trophy or memory of the fight, citing that “It looks cool.” The response is always no as it would affect her combat performance, but she has gotten them to allow her to get the scars “tattooed” on her. Because of her constant training and eagerness to fight, she is quickly becoming the defender’s best fighter, though she still has a way to go.
Vicky focuses on speed overall. While she is a CQC fighter, she uses Double Viper auto pistols so she can fire on the move. She’ll run circles around her targets, ducking behind and weaving around cover to hit them from every direction. She’s a railgun’s worst nightmare.
