This week’s episode had one of my favorite Yuchi scenes and it’s only getting better <3 I can’t wait for everyone to learn more about Machi and fall in love with her…
I can say they’re both my comfort characters :D Yuki and Machi speak to me on an emotional level, I cried my eyes out during Yuki’s backstory episode and I KNOW it won’t be any different with Machi because I can’t read her manga chapters without getting emotional. I’m just rally glad they found each other <3
My head canon is that although Kyo was never invited to the jyuunishi New Years celebration he was always in fact an amazing dancer. Now he and Tohru are married and they get to perform the New Years dance together for the Sohma family

Thank you, Fruits Basket, for your beautiful story!!! It’s been such a pleasure seeing the remake done just as Takaya Sensei wanted it done. And I cried so so much, which I hardly ever do! I drew Kyoru’s wedding day for zoom & enhance reasons because that framed photo omggg My two favorite people ever Perfect traditional Japanese wedding ahh, you just know everyone was there!! Can we get the reception party scene pls pls Ayame most certainly went all out on Tohru’s wedding gown ✨✨✨ I’ll never forget how happy this story makes me!
I have two moods for these two : sunny, soft, and sweet (while listening to lo-fi playlists in the background) OR very emo and nostalgic (I’m preparing another fanart with that particular atmosphere. I want to see more emo fanarts featuring Kyo and Tohru. The kind of fanarts that give you the “ouch that hurts” feeling * _ * )
As you can see, Fruits Basket hasn’t left my mind; you can expect one or two to pop out in the future :3
I miss summer and the sea dearly. That’s why I drew Tohru and Kyo having sweet summer holidays ❤️ It’s very windy and Kyo managed to catch Tohru’s hat before it flew far away.

The words didn’t come out harsh, or even particularly loud in the near dark of the room, and yet Yuki’s shoulders still pricked with a startle at Kyo deciding to say anything to him at all.
He twisted himself in his seat on the futon, rolled out beside the low table pushed as much out of the way as they could manage, to see Kyo standing at the junction of the hallway and the kitchen. He was just barely lit with the low incandescent glow of the stovetop light, but it only served to push him further into shadow. Yuki squinted at him, but all that he got in return was the glare of the light hitting the water glass in his hand and the vague, discomforted shift of his weight from one foot to the other.
Kyo was stiff as he brought the glass to his mouth. He paused there without seeming to actually drink out of it.
The time for him to respond to Yuki’s startle passed, but still, Yuki felt the need to recover himself. He forced his shoulders to lax as he returned, belated,

Part of him wanted to dismiss the question as he had before, if only for want of more time to think on it, to figure out how exactly to explain this thing that ebbed and flowed in him as something simultaneously serious and inconsequential. But as he looked away from her, eyes scanning the linoleum floor, the fridge covered in letters and photos, the small assortment of mail on the counter, he felt he couldn’t lie to her.
With a hum, he settled on saying,
“I guess today has been a little strange.”
There was a pause between them. Then, he felt the light touch of fingertips to his forearm, and when he looked at her again, she clasped her hand to him with an affirming squeeze.
“You should go sit,” she said, pressing on a small smile. “I can handle the rest of this, no problem.”
“Look. I know you’re trying not to make this a big deal, and like hell I’m gonna inhibit your newfound taste for adventure, but this doesn’t seem like that. I mean, let’s be real, your sense of adventure usually ends up with something blowing up in the microwave or like, going to the convenience store drunk at three a.m. You know? Just… I dunno. All I know is that this isn’t normal, and you’re actually kind of starting to freak me out.”
Yuki shifted his toe into the gravel. He chewed the inside of his lip, trying to suppress the thing collapsing behind his sternum at his horrible honesty.
“So can you just do me a solid and stay with them for the night? Like, I get it, it’s awkward or whatever, it’s not really your ‘thing’ to drop by like that. But I’d rather you be awkward and with people we know than fucked up and alone for the next few hours.”
“I’m not fucked up,” Yuki mumbled.
“Yun,” Kakeru said, and the edge in the way he said it made an anxious chill shoot down Yuki’s arms. “C’mon.”

Yuki ends up at the ocean. He ends up at Kyo and Tohru’s house. He doesn’t know why; none of this was exactly planned.
i would like to offer my ideal fruits basket cast. i just think @lesbian-kyoruand@yunsoh would be so powerful in their respective roles. jerry obviously stays, we can’t do this without him.
I don’t understand why this adaptation would take half of an episode to give Motoko a fabulous send off and then turn around and shove 4 kyoru chapters into one episode and leave 3 entire yuchi/kakeru chapters on the cutting room floor. I do not understand these choices at all.
