Garnet “Dagger” Til Alexandros XVII from Final Fantasy IX
Another week another waifu for you!
Also from Final Fantasy, but this time from FFIX, she is petite, cute, and delicious but also, strong-minded, kind and driven, make way for the Queen, Garnet Til Alexandros is here!
If you played FFIX (if you haven’t, I recommend it) you may already know this lady very well, Princess from the start of the game but Queen at the end, however we all know that’s not her most important job, *breathless in surprise* wait… what!?
She is a summoner and any FF player knows how powerful a summoner can be, *evil grin* specially if you got your backup summoner girl Eiko and go dual summon the almighty ALEXANDER to wipe, mop and polish the floor with none other than the king of the dragons BAHAMUT himself!, yesss she is THAT powerful, but, as powerful as she is as a summoner, her true power lies in her kind heart, her benevolence, which along with her strong will makes her a great queen, (and with her new, wider curves, the sexiest one too!).
During the game you can see how Garnet grows, makes choices, (both good and bad), and takes responsability for them, turning those events into experience and learning from them, she eventually picks a nickname for herself, “Dagger” taking it from Zidane’s weapon and by the end of the game she is bolder, stronger, wiser and resolved, but she never loses her softer side, like her kind heart or the warm feelings she keeps for others, in fact those feelings only grow even more stronger for those around her (specially for Zidane) now that’s a waifu for me!
If you like a true lady who can handle POWER and never lose herself in it, then the lovely Garnet is the waifu for you!

More Hanafuda! With a few cards together I hope it’s easy to see how the colours are consistent across the cards, which should give the deck a nice cohesive look.
The deck is pending release around January next year, but in the meantime if you’re interested in A5 prints of individual cards, you know where to go!
Tribute art to my favorite Final Fantasy, IX. Played this back when I was a kid and it still has a special place in my heart. Everything about IX resonates with me from world, story, artstyle, characters etc. Garnet, Vivi and Zidane stand in particular as my favorites as they overcome strong personal dilemmas that can be deeply rooted in life as well as how intrinsic they are in each other’s character development. Those aspects made them truly authentic and relatable to me.
Lately I’ve been playing a lot Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia in which my main is Zidane because I’m very fan of FF9 :3
While I was playing, while playing I came up with the crazy vision of Garnet and Zidane being kings of Alexandria…for some reason I had always wanted to do it but I had never dared to do it until now; Since I was a child I always thought it would be wonderful to see them in this facet, being both king and queen, married and loving each other a lot and having a nice happy ending
I also want to put them the name of some of the virtues that I feel represent both in the game, in the case of Garnet is “Love” (because she do everything for her kingdom and fiends be fine, blaming even herself when Alexandria is destroyed without being her fault) and for Zidane is “Hope” (because in all the adventure is the one that stays positive with all the team, being a friend a good and a guide of good advice)

I really love this song, and well…I already finish FFIX again, I don’t reall know how many times I re-played this game since my first time when I had 12 years but I really love it, is my favorite RPG…and well, this song’s lyrics relly inspired me to do this…I don’t know, I feel is Vivi talking with his friends before be “part of the sky” or maybe talking with them after the game…is so sad thing that he leaves but happy know that he was happy even at the end of his life…this draw mixed bot feelings x3
The end always make me cry, all FF9 is an amazing game, I really love it <3
