Summary

Greg and The Reader go to the Kingdom’s Park to hang out! Little did you know, it was a date…

Chapter 2: Practice Date

“So, uh, how’s your first day at my kingdom, [Y/N]?” He had no idea what to say- it was clear as day- but you could tell he was trying to start a conversation. You and Greg were sitting on a hard candy bench as he fed some blue birds.

As it was your first day, not just in the kingdom but in this sugary world, you could only say few things. “It’s gorgeous here. I love it.”

He shown shock and excitement when he nearly jumps off the bench. “Th-thanks! I had help from the sugar gnomes to make it look this way!” He smiled. “I’m happy you like it..” Greg looked away, embarrassed. It was funny, seeing him like this when he says he’s the bravest cookie.

“So, Greg…” He looks your way when you say his name. “What kind of things do you like?” You ask.

He jumps again. “Oh! I like helping, meeting new friends, you, and-”

You heard it. “What did you say?”

“H-Helping, meeting new friends…” You wave your hand in a circular motion to signal him to keep going. He sighs. “You… I know we basically just met but… You’re so attractive, and fun to hang out with, and so cool… It’s like magic! It’s like.. love at first sight.” He looks dreamily at you.

You couldn’t say you were shocked. Then again, you couldn’t say anything. You’re heart was pounding in your chest, you felt like you swallowed a boulder, and you felt butterflies in your stomach.

“Sorry, I bet I sound so dumb. Just forget-” He was shocked when you gave him a kiss on his little lips. It was a small kiss, but you got your feelings through. “Th-Thanks…” His blush was dark red- as if someone punched his cheeks.

You smiled so sincerely and so sweetly. “You’re very welcome, Greg.” He shudders when you say his name.

“Can we kiss more? I’ll be braver if you do!” Greg tries to bargain with you. You tell him there’s no need to do that, and give him a bigger mooch.

!!! Main Story Spoilers !!!

(Part 2) Lychee’s Powers

As we saw from the first half of the story, Mangosteen (Lychee) was able to charm cookies and get them to do whatever they wanted them to

To do this, Lychee apparently takes their souls like Lotus sort of did and puts them in a cage

Lotus and Lychee seem to be similar in that aspect

They both manipulate cookies to get what they want that involves harming the cookies they’re manipulating:

Lotus (sort of?) fakes the promise of wishes coming true to drain the life force of cookies to keep their paradise beautiful

Lychee disguises themself as an innocent child and uses their charm to get close to cookies and take their souls which lets them control the cookies that fall for it

Although Lotus’ motives seemed pretty clear (maintain paradise), Lychee’s are still a mystery

They seem to be doing it for fun, but there’s also an underlying motive that we don’t know yet

Their “grand plan” as they’ve put it

You know what? Fuck you *Timekeepers your Gingerbrave*

This design is a part of an AU thought of called the Gingertime AU. I don’t really have a good story yet, but I might work on it

[NOT A SHIP]

No art today, instead, have a my Brave Day entry but only with Gingershart and Birthday Cake.

I had finally convinced myself to delete cookie run off my phone so that I can focus on kingdom one

I had finally convinced myself to delete cookie run off my phone so that I can focus on kingdom one day

Only to find days later somehow the app reinstalled itself. I’m a bit worried.

I made a doodle inspired by the AO3 fanfiction Fragments by Corpsetalia_fan_the_Brotato! It’s a really good fic and it updates regularly and I recommend you check it out :DD

Your art for my fanfic looks great! Thank you very much for making it, I appreciate it a lot!

Your style looks eally nice, and I like the pose of Gingerbrave, and the mystery behind the hands that are around him! Would you mind if I linked this art post in the next chapter, so others know about it too? Hopefully, it can get some more people to come and check out your amazing work! ((if not, that is okay. I will respect your boundaries!))

Three days passed slowly. Then again, with minmal leg room, sparse entertainment, and limited communication, the only thing the brave child COULD really do- was sleep. He was tired, a lot of the time. Energy that his body put into healing the damages was tiring.

Leaning on the bars of the cell he was being held within, Gingerbrave gently slipped his hands through, and pet the cake hound that lie next to the cell.

Chiffons’s tail wagged at the attention, before the hound moved a little closer to the bars, despite the fact that he was right up against them already. Licking the boys hand a couple times, the hound went back to relaxing, it’s eyes closing after a moment or two of more attention from the child.

It was only a matter of time before the other Darkside cookies became aware of the boy’s presence.

Red Velvet was needed in other areas all of the time. However, all things considered, the least the man could do was leave his trusty cake hound with the boy. It would ensure the others would be less tempted to do anything.

Poison Mushroom wouldn’t really be too much of a problem. Neither would Dark Choco, unless he had a relapse of some sort.

However, Pomegranate, and Licorice, on the other hand- they were a completely different ball of wax…

Pomegranate was manipulative, and she had her way around the mind. She knew how to mess with others, and with Gingerbrave being the prisoner, he wouldn’t be able to say anything and have anyone care. That meant, that if she were in a bad enough mood, Pomegranate would likely be able to do anything she really wanted.

Licorice, well- that man really was something. The black haired cookie was obsessive with certain topics, and he would often become agitated, or over-active when certain things became a topic. He was also highly judgemental, and a bit self centered, though, of all the cookies, Licorice was one of the ones that were the most … ‘approachable’.

-

Within the boring, slightly dampened cell, Gingerbrave leans against the wall, his eyes staring to the floor.

He had been hard at work, trying to assimilate a plan, or something.

Anything…

On top of that… all of his hope of possibly being able to get out of this cell… get home… and be free of that voice had been shattered hours ago. As if it were mocking him, and his hopeful nature.

The voice was null, at first. Not there. There was no need for panic, or worry.

Gingerbrave had been in these situations before, right?

Trapped.. no way out… worried about others elsewhere.

He just hoped that the kingdom was not tearing itself apart.. he could just wish, and hope.

'Come on, are you going to sulk in here forever?’ the voice let out a whining voice, seeming to once again be mocking the child. It was amused… he could tell that much. That, in turn, only made Gingerbrave grunt, and lean his head down onto his knees, a low pounding starting to overtake his temples.

Considering it now… it was a good thing he wasn’t talking to the darksides. Hopefully, with less close exposure.. will keep them from being affected. He didn’t need them to become nonsensibly aggressive like the other Kingdom Cookies had become.

Though, he didn’t even know how the voices powers worked.

Hell, Gingerbrave was nearly positive that the voice had not even shown all of it’s abilities yet. He couldn’t talk to it… that thing was a liar. Who knew what was true, and what was false…

'Ugh, stop thinking kid, you’re making my head hurt. Damn you’re do annoying.’ the voice complained again, sending another pulse of pressure through the boy’s temple. In turn, just to spite the voice, Gingerbrave started to think about more and more things.

First, he would think about picking flowers, then jumping, then wondering about why the sky was blue, how flies without wings would probably be called 'Walks’ instead-

All of the quickly changing trains of thought made the voice give out a shout of annoyance, before it started to yell.

'ARE YOU TESTING MY PATIENCE, YOU USELESS LITTLE SHIT? BECAUSE IF YOU WANT TO PLAY AT THAT GAME, I CAN PLAY AT IT.'

For a brief moment, Gingerbrave felt as if all of the air within his lungs had vacated his body. He slumped against the wall, bringing his hands up to his neck as he tried to get oxygen back.

Chiffon was as the bars of the cell, whining as he starts to paw at the floor in front of the enclosed area. The cake hound could sense something was wrong, though it was clear that he didn’t know what was actually going on. Gingerbrave just maintained his determined, tired face, before standing up in his cell.

'Oh, are you finally going to start moving? Took you long enough you lazy bastard…’ the voice complainend to the boy in his mind once more, before the sound of intense static started to ring through The Brave Cookie’s head.

Gingerbrave fell to his knees, before curling up, and covering his head. The static was intense, making his entire body shake from the sheer pressure it was causing. He was tearing up, despite trying to hold it back. It wasn’t doing any good, it was nearly at the point where he was outright crying.

He felt like his head was going to explode.

Everything was spinning, and it nearly felt as though the world was becoming distorted.

He saw splotches of color all over the walls, his eyes wouldn’t focus. He wanted to hurl, but swallowed it back twice, because he didn’t need to get in trouble for making a mess of his cell when he was already in the very territory of the darksides.

'Oops, my bad. What’s the matter baby-boo? Did that hurt? What if I just-’ the voice was pensive again.

Gingerbrave knew that was a bad sign…

All of a sudden, the vibrating in his temple from the ringing static, and the sound of shouting made him fall to his side, curling into a fetal position as he tried to do anything to make the pain stop.

He wouldn’t beg… he would never ask that voice for mercy.

He was supposed to be brave, and he couldn’t tell if he was, but at best… he would continue to be stubborn… at least he was still trying…?

'You can’t ignore me forever, child, and when you finally slip up, I will have you begging me for mercy. When that time comes… I will be able to look down on you… and enjoy the look on your face when I break you. Honestly… I didn’t think attaching myself to any random host would be so much fun. Yet, here we are.’ the voice mused tot he child as the static continued to torment his mind.

The voice was the onyl thing that the brave cookie could hear… other than the buzzing, and the subtle sound of screams, and shrill scraping.

The boy had started to sweat, still tearing up as he nearly clawed at his own head.

'You are the most infuriating, determined, yet somehow still useless little shit I have managed to attach to. You’ve lasted so much longer than anticipated. I… my annoying little host, am not going anywhere. I can, and will, always find my way back here. Just you wait.’

A most subtle feeling of futility was starting to stir within the child.

However, he bit his lip, and pushed back those thoughts.

His world was still consumed in the static, and the sound of scraping, and screams. The world around him, in the minimal vision his eyes had, was distorted. Everything was waving, unsteady. Pulses of colors made him wish he was seeing nothing, over what he had been stuck bearing sight to.

He struggled to breath, silently gasping as silent sobs tried to make their way from his aching throat.

He couldn’t see Chiffon anymore… did the dog leave…?

Maybe the hound got scared and ran…

Good… maybe the dog running away would be better, that way whatever happened wouldn’t get any chance to effect the hound. He would hate it if the damned voice started to target tohers, even if they were enemies of his.

All he did know, for now… was… this static, and the feeling of suffocating weren’t going to leave him. Not for a long time.

((To Be Continued))

GingerBrave stood at the door of his home, grabbing his candycane. The day was already bright- though it was surely early. The door of his house was locked, as always. Something he made a habit after one of the times that enemies had gotten into the village. He remembered that night like it was just yesterday. Something he would never forget. He knew that for certain.

Their home was always improving. With that being said, there was always ROOM for IMPROVEMENT. It ran full circle really.

Today was going to a more quiet day. A day that was taken off in the middle of the week for all of the cookies to get some rest, and just have some fun.

There was already the sound of Hammering nearby. Most likely that was Avocado. She was always building, and repairing. It was one of the things she did best, and took pleasure in. Gingerbrave smiled to himself, before going to open his door, and closing it immediately afterward, hiding the key to his home in a nearby crevice that was under a couple bricks.

Turning, and quickly turning his walk into a sprint, he ran to the place that Avocado called home- and took notice she had put her tools down, for the time being. Perfect. Calling out as he continued to run at her, GingerBrave jumped onto her arm and starts to laugh, grinning up to her. “Hi!”

Avocado laughs a little, before  rocking a little bit, keeping the child on her arm for a momend. “Heya there, kiddo! How are you doing this morning?” she finally put the younger cookie down, beffore picking up her hammer and looking to the child again.

“Just got up! How about you? What are you doing?” he looked at Avocado’s newest project, not compeltely knowing what it was. He got a little closer to it, before the plus size cookie gently put her hand in front of him, stopping him with a small shake of her head. ‘HM?“

"No touching that sutff yet bud. It’s still a bit too warm.” the older cookie warned, before giving the smaller cookie a few pats on the noggin. “I will show you when I am done, alright?”

Pouting a little bit, GingerBrave puffs up his cheeks, before nodding to the other. “Okayyyyyyyy.” the word was prolonged into a small whine, before he tapped his cane on the ground a couple times. “I am going to explore the forest a bit more to see if I can find anything interesting!” The young cookie soon starts to walk off in the direction of the exit of the kingdom, before Avocado calls out to him.

“Hey, Hey! Make sure to go let a few of the others know you are going off into the forest- kiddo. If someone is looking for you later, they can spread the word, because I am not always out here.” The woman moved her hand to adjust her goggles. “We don’t want a repeat of what happened last time, Pumpkin’ ”

“Alright. I’ll go tell Mr. Almond, Herb, and Mr. Mint.” The kid soon ran off in the direction of the place Almond Cookie resided first. He was the first one that cookies usually went to if they wanted to know where someone was anyways.

-

It didn’t take all too long to let the other cookies know where he was going. After about 20 minutes- GingerBrave finished his instructions from Avocado, and waves to her as he goes dashing by, running to the gate of the kingdom. He waves to Knight, before crossing over a small bridge, and taking the chosen path he wanted to use.

He did take note that the guard waved to him, but said nothing as he kept a composed profile, looking around for any visitors, or maybe even possible enemies.

The rather plain boy made a quick sprint into the forest a ways, following paths- and turning on ones that he had not been familiar with. Even if he did get lost, he would be able to find his way back. Tigerlily made sure that he knew how to navigate around, esepcially if he were, per se, unable to climb a tree so he could try to get a better scope of the ground.

Speaking of Tigerlily, she might be sleeping now- she usually goes off to look for things during night-time hours.

Barely even a quarter hour passes, and the brave cookie runs out of energy to keep running. He stopped in his tracks, taking a gander around at the many canopies, low-hanging branches, and other features that this more deepened part of the forest had to offer. Of course, there were some areas that were advised against being explored, due to previous incidents- though they were mainly alon the Eastern part of the forest line-

Gingerbrave had turned somewhere between North, and Northeast.

The sound of the forest was strange when there was no village or city clammour to dampen the many different senes that were easily overflowig from beig in such a place. The sounds of animals interacting, and chirping from bird like creatures in wht can be considered an ambiant, open space was almost a surreal feeling.

Strange, and it made ones nerves tingle in apprehension.

Gingerbrave was feeling the rush of adventure coming at him. It was almost overwhelming.

Smiling the basic cookie continued on his way, stepping over several rocks, vines, and small objects like suspicious looking plants. He also kept away from any areas that looked like an animals den. Yet another thing that Tigerlily Cookie had made sure to advise him about. Especially when he was in areas by himself.

Stepping back down on the ground, the blue eyed cookie made sure to watch where his feet landed, and used his cane to move fallen clumps of foliage off to the side. The chirping of birds somewhere in the trees somehow made him feel smaller than he actually was. He would admit that it felt strange.

Several minutes of poking around, and the youngster soon came to a small clearing. There was plush green grass  sprawled out, covered in dew- and soft chiffon yellow flowers in patches within the lush greenery.

It was a sight to behold, despite how simple it might seem.

However, something caught his eye, and made him turn away from the stunning nature. He glanced up a bit more, spotting what seemed to be astone podium- carbed into a rock of sugar that rested toward the center of the field. Whatever it was seemed to be calling to the adventurous pre-teen- because he wasted no time making his way over to the structure.

Once he got there, he starts to look at the features  a bit closer in immense interest. He wondered what it was- that was for certain- despite his desire to touch it, he was going to go and ask some of the other cookies about any possible rumours or myths that surrounded this part of the forest. He wouldn’t touch the podium, as he knew well that a lot of bad things happened if one got a bit too zealous.

Turning around, he made a mental note to himself, looking for another path that he can start to follow, in hopes of finding something less confusing.

Jogging away, the lad turns to the left, and spots a path, going to find it  with a smile on his face.

What he didn’t see, though, was a bright pink glow coming from the stone podium that he had so quickly abandoned.

((To Be Continued))

As a GingerBrave fan, I feel bad for the kid. He doesn’t know what he does wrong. If he were sentient, aware of him being fictional, and ‘players’ hating him a lot- letting him get beat up, and whatever else- he woul dbe really confused.

The poor boy just wants to be a brave cookie- he probably doesn’t even want to be someone’s favorite- he just doesn’t deserve to be pummeled or isolated from the rest of cookie society- RIP. </3

This was a little AU idea I had. GingerBrave, if he is ever used for battle, is usually put at the very FRONT of the battle lines- (Namely on TikTok, at least)

So I decided to take this idea, and make it sad.

GingerBrave is holding up the front lines- trying to make sure to absorb as much damage as possible- or distract all of the enemies to the best of his ability, so there is less of a chance for his friends to br hurt

However, this time, he doesn’t come out with just cracks, or minor bits of crumbling.

His own CandyCane is taken, and plunged into his own noggin- somehow not killing him instantly- and he can feel it the entire time he is conscious.

Because of the sudden trauma, he can’t remeber what happened immediately after the deed is done-

To add more salt to the wound, getting the candycane plunged into his head was only HALF intentional. It was originally aimed at his shoulder.
