A parakeet bell, a Tootsie Roll wrapper, a syringe: the story of “Meditations in Saffron” begins in 2006 when David Chatt started walking through different Seattle neighborhoods. Initially, he was irked by the sight of the discarded things people left behind, but through the meditative process of beading, he came to see these objects not as trash, but rather as traces of human life.
When I set out to design and make a piece of jewellery for the fabulous Silver Summers i was really excited, she has an awesome style which helped me with the inspiration for this necklace.
Silver is part of Drag Pop band Buffalo Girls, so i thought it fitting to use Buffalo teeth as the main feature of the necklace. This I combined with black leather cord, czech ab beads/spikes, gemstone and a tassel. All of the Silver elements are in 925 Sterling Silver.
The Buffalo is a spiritual creature to Native Americans which symbolises Strength, Prosperity and Power.
You can catch Miss Silver Summers and The Buffalo Girls Tuesday nights on Drag Queens of London.

There’s Something in the Shrubbery (2) xD I need to secure the bail a bit more. I wanted to see if using the small leaf beads would work. I think it did.
