LIVE

as the editors of anthropocene magazine, we are thrilled to announce that submissions for issue one are officially open ! you might remember that we previously had opened rolling/early submissions for those who for whatever reason wanted to get their work in early, but as of monday, december 9 submissions are open to everyone.

we accept submissions of poetry, prose, short fiction, short creative nonfiction, essays, photography, digital art, or physical art. we’re going to officially open submission after editors are chosen, but you can submit now and they’ll be archived until editor applications close

–– submission guidelines:

you can submit as many as 5 pieces at one time, and you can send in a mix of any type of work. submit by sending us an email at [email protected] with your work in a file and your first name & last initial. name the file “work name,” “type of work” (example: sunsets on a beach, poetry). the subject of the email should be issue 1 submission, “number of pieces” (example: issue 1 submission, 3)

–– what’s the theme?

issue one’s theme is keystones !! a keystone is something that everything else depends on. for example, a momentous occasion, the most important step in a process, and an important realization are all keystones. (this is a very loose theme–more of a formality–so don’t worry at all if you don’t think your piece fits the theme~please submit it anyway !!!)

yours truly,
anthropocene

editors have been notified!

we have officially notified our editors that they were chosen! if you were chosen you’ll have an email sent to the address you provided in the application. unfortunately those who were not chosen won’t be notified just because we had so many applicants.

we had so much fun reading all of your applications and we look forward to continuing with the next step of the process! if you weren’t chosen we still encourage you to submit a piece of writing or artwork.

thank you all so much for supporting us in this journey. we can’t wait to share what we’ve been working on with you.

yours truly, anthropocene

ps. editors please join our discord server! there’s a link in the email <3

applications for all editor positions will be closing this friday at midnight (est)

we’re hard at work reviewing applications and they all look fantastic! if you still want to apply though this week is your last chance. we’d love to hear from each and every one of you!

and remember submissions are always open for this upcoming issue with the theme: keystones

thank you all so much and we’re every excited to embark on this journey with you. we’ll announce when the accepted applicants are notified.

I’ve seen this coming for a while, and I’ve been scared to put this out here but: as of 2020, my studyblr will be inactive.

the second half of 2019 was a really rough roller coaster for me, and I had a lot of changes in my life - including my family moving to shanghai while I’m still studying in singapore. because of that, I saw myself having too many things on my plate to consistently come on here and share my study journey. it’s upsetting, of course, because this lovely community has provided me with so much over the last 3 years I’ve run my studyblr.

to my mutuals and those who followed me, thank you to every single one of you for the little kind messages and posts that encouraged me to continue running this account. It’s been a good run, but sadly this is where I have to put my account on pause while I focus on my life and for my major exams in 2020.

I’ll be leaving everything as it is of now - of course I wouldn’t rob y’all of the chance to still look at whatever I posted here. and as a goodbye present, here’s my bullet journal set up for next year.

have a great 2020, loves ❤️
