Well, time for my WonHobby Gallery 2022 Spring reactions and personal picks.
FIRST OFF, THERE WERE STILL NO FIRE EMBLEM THREE HOUSES NENDOROIDS, SO I AM DISAPPOINTED ONCE AGAIN.
I just ask for Claude and Dimitri. I personally think Good Smile could make Nendoroids of the entire cast, of every house—just like they do for Haikyuu, Touken Ranbu, and Love Live—and I think they would all sell. And yet still, NO ANNOUNCEMENTS. I’M BEGINNING TO THINK THE FE3H FANDOM ISN’T LOUD ENOUGH TO MAKE THE DEMAND FOR FE3H NENDOROIDS, CLEAR TO GOOD SMILE. ……I can’t go 2 minutes on Twitter without seeing fanart of post time skip Dimitri, and Fire Emblem Warriors 3 Hopes has been premiering new trailers every Friday for the past several weeks, and yet, no word yet from Good Smile that they’ve gotten the message that they could make money from FE3H Nendoroids! Uuuuuuggggggghhhhhh… I can only hope that the still-unnannounced results of the last Next Nendoroid Survey actually got a lot of votes for FE3H, and maybe Good Smile has just been working with Intelligent Systems, behind the scenes, to finalize licensing and concept art. …I hope while groaning like a dying frog….ONCE AGAIN…
I saw Spy X Family Nendoroids coming, a mile away, and yet, my wallet still isn’t ready. I still haven’t caught up on watching the anime (Crunchyroll crashes a lot; I’m beginning to think I should have stuck to reading the manga), to make sure I like the series enough to buy their Nendoroids. So now I feel like I’m on the fence to buy all of them, or I’m seriously going to regret not buying all of them. So, here’s to hoping Anya gets A LOT of good alternate faceplates announced, to push me over the edge for definite preorders. Although, I already really like the Forger family as characters, and that same reasoning was enough to get me to preorder 3 Jujutsu Kaisen Nendoroids, without even finishing that series (and I ended up kind of disliking/dropping that series as it went further). So if I can’t preorder all 3 Spy X Family Nendoroids, when I immediately preordered 3 Jujutsu Kaisen Nendoroids, after only 3(?) episodes, it feels kind of unfair to Spy X Family. Besides, it could be really fun to play with the whole Forger family; they could have lots of really fun photoshoots. ^_^ First thing I’m doing with them, is a nice family portrait! …I guess that means I’m preordering all 3 of them. ^_^; Sorry, wallet.
30TH ANNIVERSARY KIRBY NENDOROID!?!?!? Figures. After years of resisting buying pink Kirby, a little while after my preorder of the pink Kirby finally get delivered, a 30th anniversary pink Kirby Nendoroid gets announced. x_x;;;;;;; But maybe I can resist the Kirb?????? His eyes seem a little more sparkley in the eyeshine and the magic wand is glittery now, but otherwise, seems the same as the pink Kirby that I just bought. So unless later prototype photos show more interesting accessories and facial expressions, I might skip 30th anniversary Kiby. I’LL FEEL BAD ABOUT IT, but my wallet is on life support as it it. -_-;
Nendoroid Rin Kagamine: Symphony 2022 Ver./Len Kagamine: Symphony 2022 Ver. …My first impulse was they they’re pretty and I must buy, because the Kagamine twins are cute, and I’ve tended to favor collecting them, among the vocaloids. They’re just cute little babies and I love the gender flip. But I need to save money. That’s why I didn’t buy the Hatsune Miku version of these Symphony theme outfits. And if I didn’t get the Miku version, getting the Kagamine twins would already be an incomplete set. It irks my completionist tick. Plus, I need to save money. I’ll just keep telling myself that, to avoid preordering them…while trying to resist how PRETTY they are… o_o!
Rilakkuma Nendoroid is cute. I’m not especially a fan, so I’m not buying. But it’s cute that it exists. ^_^
Cookie Monster is a nostalgia favorite. But more because I relate to endlessly eating cookies, not because I grew up with Sesame Street—because I didn’t. So I’m not interested in buying Nendoroid Cookie Monster. But I wonder if I should tell my siblings about him. My sister might be a little interested. Maybe not interested in the expected ~$50 price, but she might be interested.
There’s another Nier Automata Nendoroid. I still need to play that game. Don’t tell me spoilers. The game is still on my shelf.
Ramlethal got painted. That’s nice. I still think Sol or Ky should have gotten Nendoroids first. I would have bought them up IMMEDIATELY.
Suprised to see XXXholic Nendoroids. I didn’t read/watch the series, but I used to be really into CLAMP manga. Nice to see CLAMP series get figures, besides Cardcaptor Sakura. I wish more CLAMP series would get Nendoroids. I’d love X Nendoroids or Magic Knight Rayearth. Some Clover Nendoroids would be freaking beautiful.
Ermes got her painted prototype. So many Jojo6 Nendoroids got announced all at once during the last WonFes (WonFes2022winter), that I’m actually kind of surprised that only 1 Jojo Stone Ocean Nendoroid was ready right now. But I understand. Good Smile sculptors have A LOT on their plate. o_o;
“Nendoroid Surprise (Tentative Name): Haikyu!! Nationals Arc” Still kind of confused by this new “Nendoroid Surprise” line. They look like just smaller Nendoroids. Isn’t that just “Nendoroid Petite”? They had a bit of articulation too. Maybe these “Nendoroid Surprise” figures are slightly larger than “Nendoroid Petite”????? I wonder why they made a new figure line. Well, despite how much I love Hinata Shoyo, I need excuses to save money, and if this is essentially just like Nendoroid “New Karasuno version” Hinata Shoyo, which I already have, then I can’t buy this “Nendoroid Surprise” Hinata Shoyo.
“Love After World Domination” Nendoroid Desumi Magahara. Oh noes! Another series that I meant to watch, but haven’t yet! ;~; What if it get to this series, and find I love this character, AFTER the preorder closes, then I’ll have to hunt down her Nendoroids, with scalper prices or pray for a re-release…. Ugh. It’s such a hassel, when you fall behind on your anime backlog. x_x; Well, let’s hope this’ll be like Dr. Stone: A series and characters I enjoy, but not enough to feel bad about not preordering their Nendoroids. My wallet needs any excuse for a break, after all.

I’m glad the Fruits Basket Nendoroids got, not just prototypes premiered, but PAINTED prototypes revealed. People have been asking for them too, and SO FORLORNLY! ;~; Fruba fans talk like they’ve lost all hope, when they comment about no progress shown yet. I hope they cry tears of happiness now. ^_^
“Nendoroid Doll Height Adjustment Set (Almond Milk/Peach/Cream/Cinnamon” I did not expect this. O_o? Interesting accessories though. I initially thought this was to give variety in characters who are taller than other characters. But looks like Good Smile is trying to expand into other scale sizes with this. Interesting. Good Smile is really flling in the void that VOLKS left, when VOLKS pulled back a lot of their more accessible stores. It’s so much easier to find Good Smile figures than VOLKS, unless you are into nich forums for ball joint doll collectors…at least, that’s how I feel about BJDs. It’s easier for someone like me to order from Good Smile or find their stuff in other stores. Good Smile is really horning in on the BJD market (adjacent). O.o
“Nendoroid More Hammock (Pink/Orange/Green)” Cute, but I have no room for, and of all the excessive things that could be cut from my spending, to alleviate my wallet, this would be one easy mark.
“Nendoroid More Container: Cream Soda/Malibu” I’m glad they made these Nendoroid More Containers cute. The previous versions were so unappealing. Unless you were into some kind of Spartan, utilitarian, military aesthetic. These are pastel, cute, covered with cute motifs, translucent for some lids,…It’s just so much better, all the way around.
“Nendoroid More Kigurumi Face Parts Case (Shark/Orca Whale)” This. Is a cute idea! *o* But I’ve been cutting many Nendoroid More face cases from my budget, and I’ve already passed up so many cute versions. Like, I wanted that minty dinosaur! ;O; But I had to sacrifice something for my wallet’s survival. ;_; And these will probably be passed up, for the same reasons for me. ;___; Shark~shark~! ;O;!!!!!!!!!!! I love shark-sharks! ;~;!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“Nendoroid More Puzzle Base” These are really cute. I wonder if I coudl fit more into my display cases with bases like this. But it has pegs that extend out, just as much as they have notches cut into them, so they probably wouldn’t save space. Not as much as the minimal bases with Nendoroid More Dress Up sets can save space. (I recently swapped out a regular Nendoroid base with a Nendoroid More Dress Up set’s base, and was able to fit 10 Nendoroids into a display case that normally could only hold 6-7 maxiumum. O.o ) Still, these puzzle bases are a cute idea. I like the pastel colors. ^_^
“ Nendoroid Hatsune Miku 15th Anniversary Ver. ” This is so pretty, I couldn’t help staring at it for a while. ^.^; I love clearly themed motifs and archetype Mikus. So even though I’m not like obsessed with strawberry shortcake or anything, I just really love how well this Miku design expresses “strawberry shortcake”. ^u^ It’s just so pretty! And I love desserts. I probably shouldn’t spend my money on it though. I’d love if they could do a similar Miku in lavender or blueberries. She’s so pretty…! *o*
And that’s it for my reactions to WonHobby Gallery 2022 Spring’s figure announcements. Not much I want to buy, but my wallet has been dying on Nendoroids for so many years, that each WonFes/WonHobby where I don’t see much I want to actually buy, is actually a relief for me. EXCEPT IN TERMS OF FE3H NENDOROIDS! WHY AREN’T THERE FE3H NENDOROIDS?!?!? I NEED A CLAUDE AND DIMITRI RIGHT NOW—3 YEARS AGO, EVEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Junko is around 17-18cm tall, retails for 3,900 yen and is scheduled to be released in October.
