It’s Go Time! Go Vote

5 months ago I created this sign. It was a call to action to go Vote in response to the death of George Floyd. But I didn’t stop there. I made it my mission to use my platform every single week to try to influence my fellow citizens to exercise their right to vote in both local and federal elections. I have been adamant on holding our leaders accountable.

I have made calls, written letters, shared information, donated to protester bail funds, donated to candidates, my company has convinced clients to donate thousands of dollars & their time to promote voting.
I’ve convinced and confirmed over 50 family members and close friends to vote early.

Why all this effort? Because I am tired. Tired of the lies. Tired of chaos. Tired of name calling. Tired of the incessant tweeting. Tired of the political indecency. Tired of the racism. Tired of demonizing the media. Tired of this government not listening to the scientist and the doctors. Tired of playing teacher, referee and playmates to my 2 kids.

I am also terrified and traumatized by COVID. Terrified of sending my kids to school. Terrified of people coming close to me. Terrified of going to stores(I haven’t been to a grocery store in 7 months). Terrified every time my husband has to go out. Terrified that me or someone from my family could add to the 230,000 American lives lost to this virus.

The life we had and used to enjoy is gone. The current administration doesn’t know what they are doing and they have NO plans. No plans to control the virus, no plans to help families get back to work, no plans to help schools keep our kids safe, no plans to help small businesses.

I did not go to high school at 9, college at age 15 and start a business in my 20’s to be forced to stay at home because of someone else’s screw ups.
I need this to end. Today.
