I’m so tired of my hair. Its damaged to the point where some strands have become straight. The damage is due years of not taking care of it. This past year, I have been on a journey to grow healthy and long hair. I want to run my hands through my hair without my hands getting stuck between my hair. It’s like I’m growing string on my head. I have been trying so many things to correct this problem and I’m starting to get discouraged. I’m slowly trimming my ends, but cannot cut all of it at once.
My hair is naturally thin, and I do not have a lot of hair. I trimmed the back of my hair two months ago and I already developed split ends in that area. I’m worried about the state that my hair will be in when winter comes. I want to give up and wear weave, but I want to learn what works for my hair, and how to manage it. I also want to love my hair.

Eye know that “going natural” is different for everyone but it pains me to see our story exploited without the courtesy of the honest representation of the DEPTH of WHY we are even needing to RAturn to our NaTuRal state.☀️ We can’t ignore the systemic presumption that European standards are supreme. This lie is still reaking havoc on the minds of millions of people today! We’ve forgotten who we are and our narrative in the hands of our enemy will always leave us wanting… we have to answer WHY and HOW it is that as a global people we’re the most exploited and impoverished yet spending billions on fake hair. In deed we need healing…. you can’t speak this truth without people feeling offended or as if you’re “judging” people for their personal decisions, but the truth hurts. It’s not a judgement but a fact that, collectively speaking, we have our values and priorities fucked up. It’s not personal, it’s political — whether we like it or not. #NothingButLove #FreeYourMind

Over 5 years ago eye cut off my hair and decided to leave behind who eye thought eye was and what eye thought made me, to literally RAturn to my ROOTS! Cabo Verde is where eye started growing back my hair without any chemicals AT ALL — no shampoos, conditioners, just good ol aloe vera and authentic black Afrakan soap! That’s why my tips are golden and sunkissed without bleach. Eye moved back HOME and lived there with my love @prestonroundtree for a year of self exploration, clarity, research, transformation and RAjuvenation! It was not easy, but it is thee experience that catapulted me into myself, my purpose and DESTINY! Let’s get back to chronically my hair journey.
I’m in the fourth month of third year so I have much more time (glad surgery and obgyn are out of the way). Ever since cutting my hair in May 2015 I’ve been on a journey to regrow my hair to longer lengths and protecting it more often. It was at neck length when stretched and now it’s about armpit.
I don’t think anyone will really follow this Tumblr blog, but it’s for my own journey anyways :) if you do, then I hope you enjoy.
