it’s kinda ironic how I discovered mdzs/cql only a few months ago and I thought it was too late for me to join the fandom or create a blog dedicated to it. so when I started reading erha and found out that hyx was in the making, I fell in love with the novel and started this page. but it seems like I might have joined this fandom too soon because now I’m just rereading the novel everyday while starving for content from hyx. why is this my life now?
At the end of the day, I don’t mind that HYX has made Shi Mei a woman. But I hope they won’t undermine the character because of the change of gender. I want them to preserve the original story. I want them to shock the viewers when it’s time to reveal Shi Mei’s background. I want that agonizing transition from the reserved & kind Shi Mei into the determined & ready to risk it all for the cause Shi Mei. I want to see Shi Mei with all the agency, motivation & resourcefulness. I want the tragic, resentful & full of hatred Shi Mei. I want to see Shi Mei’s final shattering sacrifice. And, I want to see Shi Mei 2.0 earning their redemption. I want HYX to make it so hard for us to either hate or love the character because, yes, Shi Mei hurt & killed people who had nothing to do with the suffering of the Butterfly-Boned Clan but if your people were treated the way that the Butterfly-Boned Clan folks were, would you not be angry? Would you not seek revenge on the society that violated, abused & murdered your people? Would you not give everything to bring them home safely? Honestly, Shi Mei is one of the most well-written, poignant and complex antagonists I have ever read in fictional works and I hope the live adaptation can do Shi Mei justice, regardless of the gender.
Haoyixing better do my girl Ye Wang Xi justice. I want to see her in all of her glorious badassery. I want to see her silently stare down foolish men. I want to see her standing up to Taxian Jun and refusing to yield to him. I want to see her taking on all those soldiers at Tianyin Pavilion by herself.
I hope Chen Feiyu and Luo Yunxi can be playful and comfortable around each other. I just want them to have a good relationship (like the one Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo had) while working together.

We remember that grueling shooting of the fight scene, in order to complete a shot, you rotated 360° on wires for three hours. “With Shizun here, we can do it.”
