Few days ago I watched compilation videos about streamers helping strangers get away from stalkers by pretending to know them.
So it’s plausible that citizens of Coruscant developed, over time, the same “tactic” with GAR: they’d pretend to know troopers or act like they’re soldiers’ lovers to scare away the persistent creeps.
Of course clones quickly caught up with the idea, creating this unusual alliance with more vulnerable citizens as, of course, civilians would often pay back the favors by helping drunk clones find (and often dragging their drunken asses along) the nearby group of less intoxicated troopers before they got mugged, beaten or, worse, killed on the streets.
Not to mention, the buckets no doubt have recording equipment so the footage could even provide as evidence if anything major happened.
