I am still not over his death… I actually like Ivar but that wasn’t cool at all . Sigurd’s character was growing and they just kill him off for no reason…But I really hope that this was just a vision The same goes to Helga, I can’t believe that she died, I really loved her… I am so sorry for floki :(
“Hvitserk…? HVITSERK?!”, you said, started to ran towards him and he just stood there and smiled. You hugged him and he hugged you too, pressed his lips on yours. “I missed you my beautiful star”, he said. “I missed you too, Hvitserk. I finally watched the new episode after a long, busy and hard day. What are your thoughts till now? Yay or Nay? For me, it’s defintely a yay. I loved the new episode and I love the story of the Ragnarsson’s brothers. Their story is really interesting. I don’t want to go into detail coz Spoilerrrrs.

The Keeper Of Fragile Things
It always comes out of the blue. Every single time. She knows he has a hard time adjusting to the life she takes for granted, that he finds it difficult to live among the cords and electromagnetic fields and gently whirring ticking buzzing machines. So she understands why he runs, but understanding doesn’t mean it’s easier on her.
Sometimes she finds it hard to calm her heart when she wakes alone in a bed, the spot where he lies now cold from the loss of the internal furnace that’s unmistakably him. He’s warm like a wildfire, different to his brother who ignites on cue but with the cerulean flame in his eyes that she has no fear of now. No, it’s internal, uncontrolled, innate, part of him wholly, like the twining roots of her heritage that circle her limbs and anchor her to the ground like a tree.
Sometimes, at night, when it’s just them, the fire he ignites in her spirit comes close to how he feels against her skin: an intense, intoxicating warmth she can’t get enough of. He says it’s normal, it’s how The Mouth Breathers fall under his spell, how they can slip between worlds without a care or a blip in their moments, but she thinks it might just be magic.

Bjorn had announced to the town that he would convict anyone to death who aided their little brother in any way. Ubbe could not forget Bjorn’s pointed gaze at him, clearly communicating that included Ubbe.
This is only a fanfic but it feels canon! My anger at Bjorn only raises more.
She had never liked Hvitserk even when Hvitserk and he were children and she openly despised him ever since he had killed her eldest son in battle.
Torvi and Bjorn are my OTP - One terrible Partnership as both of them are suited for each other. She dated somebody she used to look after as a child, after being married to that young person’s older brother, that is predatory behaviour. There is no difference in my eyes as if Yidu had married Ubbe, she and Torvi were around the same age.
Feeling Hvitserk’s ribs, he was even skinnier than Ubbe had feared. How had he not noticed it all that time back in Kattegat? His little brother had practically been wasting away slowly dying before their eyes

I headcanon Ubbe did see, but he didn’t do anything for three reasons: One he was still angry at Hvitserk and just assumed Hvitserk would calm down the drinking in time once Ivar had been found or when Hvitserk realised he can’t just live day to day hoping to get revenge, once he understand that he would move on by himself, so there was no reason for Ubbe to step in just yet.
Second reason, ever fell out with somebody and you know you should help them, but it’s been so long since you’ve both been on friendly terms so it just feels awkward and you know they are other people around who can also help? This I think is what Ubbe did, he thought Bjorn as the oldest brother would help Hvitserk. Then he allowed Amma to take that role. When they failed he tried to give Hvitserk the role of going to the Silk Road to build trade, but by then it was too late and addiction had set in.
Third, people are often blind on their rage. We’ve seen it in the show already. When Floki killed Athelstan, Ragnar was perfectly fine to leave Floki for maybe weeks or months in that cave with water dripping on his head, almost naked to allow the cold to get him. It was only when his daughter died that Ragnar allowed him to go free. The death of Floki’s daughter snapped Ragnar out of his wish to see Floki suffer. I think if something equally bad had happened to Hvitserk, it should have made Ubbe go to his aid - like Bjorn burning him alive. I think it was down to writing and needing the brothers in different locations, but by Ubbe’s true character he should have gone after Hvitserk :(
I put my thoughts on what you said below the read more since they got kind of long.
I absolutely agree with you about Torvi and Bjorn and them being suited for each other for that reason. I think that is a really good analysis of what Ubbe may have been thinking during his time in Kattegat between season 5b and 6a and during season 6a. Also, that no matter how angry Ubbe was that after what Bjorn did to Hvitserk that Ubbe would go to his aid. As you said, I think Hirst just did it so Hvitserk would be at the right location and situation to end up back with Ivar, so he made Ubbe act ooc by not helping Hvitserk in order to make that happen.
It drives me crazy because Hirst easily could have accomplished this without making Ubbe act ooc by having Ubbe try to get Hvitserk to go to Iceland with them earlier or leave earlier while still angry but thinking Hvitserk would be safe, Hvitserk refusing to go to Iceland, and Ubbe getting Bjorn, Gunnhild, and Amma’s assurances that they would look after Hvitserk while he is ill with his addiction. Then Ubbe could leave for Iceland before things got to their worst and before Lagertha’s death with no reason to expect what would happen and assuming Hvitserk would be fine. I am seriously so addicted to this story! It is such a fast-paced exciting read that I couldn’t put it down. I loved finding out part of the origin story of how she became a werewolf. That surprised me and wasn’t what I expected, but it makes so much of what is happening make perfect sense and adds such an interesting dynamic. The world building of this AU is amazing and I am really enjoying each new bit of information we learn about their world and how it works. Now sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for the next chapter.
