Groovin’ on the summer time train: art, the beach, communion dancing, sunshine, Aunt Stephie’s Summer Art + Adventure Camp, tiny cabin visits, camping trip to milwaukee, jokes, friend adventures, grill outs, bike rides, The Party Tent at Even Furthur, picnics, patios, gardening, painting, and mostly lots of living in the outdoors.

I took a bit of much needed time off at Christmas, I didn’t work on any art at all, after feeling some post show burn out. Then Monday this week, this small painting of a woman happened. The momentum of the previous year’s work came to a screeching halt while I tried to absorb this. I admit I was pretty grumpy as much as I was excited to have done this. For sure, it’s a strange combination of feelings to have but I’m not one for sudden changes or surprises and this left me feeling like the floor had dropped out from under me. There is no automata or collage here, no imagery from the past year that I’ve been building on, and all my collage papers sit on the piano bench beside my work table, looking a wee bit forlorn.
