Today was a good birthday, but a super special mention @cheekywithcullen for sending me a surprise gift!

fifth-hargreeves:

I knew someone like Gong Tae-sung, who acts every day as the coolest guy with perfect lines and perfect everything, had to confess in the most earnest spontaneous and vulnerable way to show this isn’t him working, this is the messy and often embarrassing person we’ve come to know and I wasnotdisappointed

one of the best things to come of my joining the Fellowship is my friendship with the elves!

Knowing I was saddened by Legolas’ words and actions, the Lady Galadriel and the most noble Haldir convinced me to remain just a little longer with them to refresh my spirits. I now set off for the Shire in a much better mood. And hopefully that will make me a much better house-guest for Master Samwise.

Another fantastic character moodboard by @thedaughteroftheforestland, who is taking requests! This is Jubilee “Call-me-Lee-or-else” van Dusen, Hulda’s pyromaniac fire mage sister. She leads a rather adventurous life, so finding a raging man-eating monster outside her house is just a Tuesday for her. Read more about Lee’s badass adventures in Force Majeure! Available on Amazon. The ebook is currently on sale for $0.99!

“The Northman” - so worth going to the cinema for.

Sure it’s a classic revenge story - Shakespeare had to “steal” Hamlet from somewhere after all ;) This particular retelling go back to it’s viking roots and is… weirdly pretty to look at as bathed in blood as it is. I really like the way the camera moves in this movie - fluidly from wide shots to the character perspective and closeups.

I like the acting. Everyone did a great job. I like the way everything is steeped in the nordic mythology and the fact that it is done respectfully.

I like the fact that I heard polish from the screen ;)

And I almost laughed at myself when instead of listening to the dialogues I was like “Nicole Kidman doesn’t know how to tablet weave” I’m in too deep ;P

All in all I absolutely do recommend this movie if blood and cruelty don’t make you queasy.
