Review of Julie and the Phantoms Episode 5: “The Other Side of Hollywood”

At the end of the previous episode, I was skeptical of how the story would continue, with the boys going to the club instead of preparing to perform with Julie.

I expected Caleb’s character to be villainous but he quickly changed my mind with his support for the boys and his amazing performance, then we discovered that he had a pretty evil plan all along. Hats off to the writers!

The continuation and development of Alex and Willie’s relationship really got me attached to the episode—if it wasn’t for that, I probably would not have enjoyed the episode as much.

Another aspect of the plot I enjoyed was the new kid getting to dance with the girl. Despite it making up a small part of the show, it added a positive note to Julie’s situation, as Flynn said.

However I didn’t like Nick’s attempt to sort the situation out. Also, could the ghosts not have just appeared performing with Julie like they did in the second episode?

Review of Julie and the Phantoms Episode 4: I Got The Music.

I like how this episode began with a musical number instead of ending with one, which I found quite annoying after the first three with that structure. However, it gave me immediate HSM vibes (not that I’m complaining) which is probably because Kenny Ortega had a major role in both.

Another part I liked was the plot of Carrie and Julie’s past friendship, which was revealed by Nick in the previous episode, was continued. Although we don’t understand why they fell out, I get the impression that it will soon be known.

I have begun to like Flynn more: she gets Carlos out of Julie’s way even though it means she’ll have to wait for the ghosts’ performance and in the song, she gets a fun solo. However, I don’t enjoy how she is forcibly romantic about the ‘cute ghosts’.

Carrie’s character has also grown on me: she is envious of Julie in Bright because the latter stole all the attention from her, which is understandable considering she had thoroughly prepared for her performance; and she let Julie and Flynn into her home when she could have easily dismissed them.

One character I still don’t like is Nick’s. While necessary, he seems quite an annoying character and I’m guessing that he would be the reason that Carrie and Julie fell out because it’s 2021 and girls are still being taught that they’re worth is defined by the attention of a boy. (If I’m wrong, please comment to let me know, but don’t give too much of a spoiler!)

At the end of the episode, it is hinted that the ghosts will miss the school performance and the man Willie will introduce them to is quite mischievous. I want to see more of Alex and Willie, as well as have Reggie develop more of a character other than the clown.

A general update is that the songs are effortlessly catchy and, due to keeping it a secret from my sister, I am finding it soo hard to stop myself from bursting into song. Are they’re better ones to come?

Review of Julie and the Phantoms Episode 9: Stand Tall

Words can not describe how amazing this episode was. The writers and directors and all the BTS crew have constructed a masterpiece. Like always, I fell in love with Julie’s outfits and even Caleb’s performance was incredible but I suppose that villain are the most talented.

My only negative is that I expected some classic actor to play the manager guy in the office. I feel that could have really been a cool addition.

Alex and Reggie’s short but sweet solos were definitely a highlight of the episode. In fact I gasped when Alex stood up. I like how the phantoms were dressed in the same outfits as they previously performed in — it gave an impression that Julie’s singing brought them to the Orpheum. Everything was so fluid and I loved it. Also Nick’s little head turn when he was possessed was hilarious. He looked like he was a vampire from Twilight. Credits to whatever writer added the dahlia scene. It was short but it was sweet. I guess the best things do come in small packages.

Also, as soon as this episode finished, I blurted it to my sister that I had watched it and we did not stop talking.

Julie and the Phantoms Episode 7 Edge of Great Review

“Girls am I right?” “Yeah.” “No.”

Like the other episodes prior, Edge of Great was captivating. Also similar, the episode begins where the previous ends which gives a great sense of continuity.

My favourite part of the episode was the final moment between Alex and Willie because I could see the heartbreak in their eyes and the care in the band mates.

Julie and Luke’s duet Perfect Harmony was also one of my favourite moments and it gave me total HSM vibes like Can I Have This Dance. After this performance, Julie realises she has fallen for Luke instead of Nick, who she has been crushing on, to quote Flynn, since forever. Finally, Julie, finally!!!

The best part of this episode was most definitely the behind the scenes crew. Julie’s outfits, like always, were incredible and the decor at her house during the gig was amazing. I especially liked the butterflies decorating her outfit.

Julie and the Phantoms Episode 6: Finally Free Review

The writers did another great job at swiftly getting into the storyline in which Julie discovers Nick and Carrie have broken up and the Phantoms begin their attempt at making it up to Julie.

I like how all of the characters are in the episode, even Carlos and Tia. I was engrossed in this episode the whole way through — even when I had to hide that I was watching this show from my sister (it’s going to a be surprise).

Julie’s outfit to the performance was killer and I particularly like the fabric bits that were on her upper arm that weren’t attached to the top. I also like her jewellery; Julie is becoming my fashion icon.

One thing I didn’t like was Alex joining in the Dirty Candy dance since I feel it didn’t really fit his personality. I think that bit would have suited Reggie better. Additionally, I would have liked it if Willie snuck in to see their performance but I might just be desperate for cute moments between him and Alex. Please leave your opinions.

Welcome fantoms at the end of the Sorting Hat Ceremony. Hope the others results satisfied you, but now we are at clou of all this.

Let’s begin with the result for Julie for whom we haven’t a strong preference, but at the end this wins, so make some noise for RAVENCLAW JULIE

Personally i love her in this house

Be honest, we all expected this. I haven’t no doubt he will be sorted into this. Just at the end someone thought that Gryffindor could be good as well but the other house was already a winner.

Fellows HUFFLEPUFF say welcome to our new mate REGGIE

For him votes were a little bit confused, in the beginning we all agree he is a Gryffindor but with the second group of votes things changed and in fact here we are with another fellow HUFFLEPUFF ALEX

He hope Willie just follows him

And at the end, here we are with a guy that for us all is everything but Ravenclaw(just one person voted it maybe it is mistake? Ahahaha jk) . To me this is highly expected and so much wanted. So, less talk and clap your hands for GRYFFINDOR LUKE

We are at the end. Hope this will make you a little bit smile, and now everyone who is able to do aesthetic edit please makes a ton of it.

JATP Week // Day 2: Favorite Song

Wake Up“The hardest thing in this world is to live in it. Be brave. Live for me.”

It’s the way I wonder what Julie’s classmates must say about her band. Like the classmates opinions, because some of them must have known Julie before like ‘oh yeah she’s the girl who used to sing a lot but now doesn’t’ even though they don’t talk to her, you would notice though that as a classmate so when the Pep assembly happened they must have been like “:0 look at her go ” and like being happy for their classmate like they must have seen the change in her.

When know that there must at least be Julie and the Phantoms band fans because of those two kids who asked for selfies from her but like see… what I’m interested in is like… see because they’re her classmates they would talk right

I’m just thinking about it like Julie’s in English class or something and it’s the classes that she’s in is where the most talk would happen but they’d try to keep it on the down low that they’re talking about her. Not her specifically but just talk about her band. Julie would just hear in the back of class a conversation like,

“…Ok but who are the guys in her band?”

“Maybe they go to [rival school].”

“I don’t think so, they have no social media of any kind. It’s like they don’t exist.”

“Just because they don’t have social media means anything.”

“…What if they’re actual ghosts ”

“That’s ridiculous.”

“…ok but the blond have you seenhim?”

“Nah uh! The one with the flannel have you LOOKED AT HIM?”

“Guess the sleeveless one is off the market.”
