Paloma Faith - Just be

#paloma faith    #just be

My mother is INSANE! She spent 2 weeks visiting my sister in Alaska and is currently in the family chat talking about how she misses the never ending daylight because “you can get so much done”.

It’s literally 10pm in Alaska right now an my mom is jealous that my brother in law had to be dragged in from mowing because he lost track of time.

So just to be clear to anyone who thinks like my mother, it’s okay to do NOTHING!

It’s okay to stop and rest and just pause. It’s okay to enjoy the moment, to just sit, and zone out, it’s okay to just STOP.

In fact stopping, letting go, creating moments empty from expectation, worry, or work is GOOD for you. It’s okay to be done for the day, to stop, to just be.

Because in the end Being is all that we are.

I struggle with issues with self esteem, and not feeling that I’m ever enough. I think sometimes well intended motivational quotes that are constantly splashed all over social media are not actually particularly helpful for people like me.
Sometimes it feels like we’re all pushed towards proving our worth and justifying our existence. You have to be somebody; you have to do something- otherwise what is the point of you being here at all? Sometimes I feel like we might be so much happier if we didn’t have to be anything in particular; if we could just accept that it’s okay to simply exist.
