#kings tide

LIVE

i’m in love/hate relationship with the collector’s design, because it’s honestly amazing, but i hate it because he’s so cute and friend-shaped that it’s really hard to dislike him (even though i know i probably should)

bvbvbbvv:

theres smthn abt funky characters w white hair

tailsimp:

The lone sob of Gus in the rain as they all come to terms with what’s happened will haunt me until the hiatus is over

powerlesswitch:

no because the way i gasped when luz did this i love her

I legit screamed like Y E S

hegpie:

Miss Terrace please bring her home safe

WAIT I DIDN’T MEAN IT LIKE THAT

lotso-toons:

(stolen from twitter) so…..when does king’s tide take place?

teartra:

Totally just a hoax

Such as an alien invasion in LA

Along with some infrastructure damage

malk-is-a-pansexual-mess:

// TOH Spoilers

The Government legit covered up the whole Frogvasion Incident

itsd-man:

Anne from Amphibia makes a cameo in the episode. Girl Lost in Frog Land?? Hoax???

rolanslide:

okay so. still unpacking

here’s a list in no particular order of some of the shit that happened here

  1. Belos is dead. at least mostly. if he’s not dead he’s been reduced to just goo. and a bit of Belos goo has latched onto Hunter and is therefore now in the human realm
  2. The Collector is free and fully corporeal. they’re not possessing Luz, the resemblance is likely coincidental or otherwise not due to a physical connection
  3. King and the Collector have a pact now of some sort. they’re playmates I guess. King did pinky swear that they would play together
  4. We were right about Belos betraying the Collector and the Collector retaliating. but at what cost
  5. The Collector is, in fact, a child, at least by cosmic standards. unfortunately his version of playing with dolls is destroying the Boiling Isles and presumably making the residents into his personal playthings
  6. Luz, Amity, Hunter, Willow and Gus are now in the human realm, presumably living with Camila. we got what we wanted but at what cost
  7. We were right about Wittebro’s name being Caleb, and Flapjack did belong to Wittebro/Caleb. That’s 2 of the big Wittebro theories confirmed, so good for us for putting the pieces together I guess?
  8. King’s Collar makes him invisible to the Collector. Not much of a revelation but very much a “it’s a surprise tool that will help us later” moment
  9. Belos doesn’t hate Luz and never did. He wanted to help her despite their differences only because she’s human. of course his version of “help” is killing an entire realm of people including her friends and found family. so
  10. Kings dad (likely the Boiling Isles titan but still no solid confirmation) is the one that trapped the Collector and doomed him to becoming a shadow on the wall forever. makes sense why King could free him on his own but Belos likely couldn’t, it’s probably a spell(?) that was cast by a titan and therefore can only be undone by a titan. “Me whose trapped beneath these bones” indeed
  11. Our estimate for how many previous Golden Guards there were was too small. far, far, far too small
  12. The Collector is INSANELY powerful. What we’re getting here is a bratty child with unfathomable power who‘s temper tantrum could and would level the whole fucking realm. they moved the moon and sun with their pointer finger
  13. Eda lost an arm. EDA LOST AN ARM
  14. ,,this is the finale and we’re gonna be on hiatus after all of that

The goo closed the door in the end credits. I’m not sure Belos is fully dead. Also, Gus probably now knows of Hunter’s origins as a Grimwalker.

he’s done this a dozen times before, who’s to say he hasn’t done it a dozen times more?(edit: I miss

(edit: I missed his tooth gap wtf well its back now)

King’s Tide fed the huntlow nation so much crumbs but this part was a personal fav- the way their arms were wrapped around each other and how willow just lights up when the sigil gets deactivated aaaa weeps

I think that after King is left alone with the Collector on the Boiling Isles, he’ll explain the owl house game he made up as “an adventure game” where he lets the Collector play Luz as they all reenact the events of the first season or so (with a few character substitutions)

me after looking at promo arts for King’s tide:

A Tweet from Zach Marcus, writer of the Owl House season 2 finale, "King's Tide." The tweet simply shows a devious cat emoticon. Dana Terrace, creator of the Owl House, liked the tweet.ALT
A blurry photo of Antoni from Queer Eye. He looks terrified and worried, holding a small gift bag. The caption at the bottom of the picture reads "Gay fear"ALT
