Kimono Shimaiya posted a great article discussing the different styles you can get from just changing the haori with your outfit (and note that their suggested shoes are Mary Janes, not zori!).

It’s the same kimono and outfit in all ways except the amount of contrast present in the haori coat, and look what a change there is in the feel!

The pink and blue patterns look sweet and girly together, while the black haori gives a more somber adult feeling to the outfit– definitely suitable for people who are shy about wearing colors they might feel are ‘too bright’!

Let’s experiment with haori!

Always fold it on the existing seams and keep it away from direct sunlight and damp, and it will stay perfect for decades to come.

Kimono outfit for a tea outing a few weeks ago. The weather was just starting to warm up (though it was still cold), so I wanted to wear some spring-ish colours, especially this mint green hakama!

We also found a green fence that coincidentally matched

My kitsuke is pretty messy again because I was in a hurry… good thing the hakama covers most of it. I should’ve given it a better iron, though

Thank you munster.photography_sasa_photography for photos!
