Kiyokata Kaburagi(鏑木 清方 Kaburagi Kiyokata?, August 31, 1878 – March 2, 1972) was the pseudonym of a Nihonga artist and the leading master of the bijinga genre in Taishōand Showa periodJapan. His real name was Kaburagi Kenichi. Incidentally, although his name is universally transliterated as “Kaburagi” by western sources (and many Japanese sources), Kaburagi himself used the pronunciation “Kaburaki”.
Kimono outfit for a tea outing a few weeks ago. The weather was just starting to warm up (though it was still cold), so I wanted to wear some spring-ish colours, especially this mint green hakama!

My kitsuke is pretty messy again because I was in a hurry… good thing the hakama covers most of it. I should’ve given it a better iron, though
I went to 本むら庵 (Honmuraan), a sobaya from 1924, with Iona (who handled my camera this time) and Mia. After the meal, we went to どんぐり舎 (Dongurisha), a kissa I’ve been to a few times in Nishiogi, to plan a future outing and play hanafuda, like the old ladies we are (pictures of that on my Instagram post).
