After these horrifying news, I’ve decided to do a recap on KyoAni’s main titles from their foundation until now as a homage for its staff, especially the victims and their families. We don’t know where the studio will be going from now, but we do know of its journey until the present moment. There were hits and there were misses, but it overall deserves appreciation now more than ever.
This is going to be a bit long but they deserve it all and more.
Nurse Witch Komugi-chan Magikarte (2002)
Inuyasha Movies 1 to 3 (2001-2003)
Munto (2003-2009)
Full Metal Panic! Fumoffu/TSR (2003-2006)
Air (2005)
Kanon (2006)
Clannad (2007-2009)
Suzumiya Haruhi (2006-2010)
Lucky Star (2007-2008)
K-ON! (2009-2011)
Nichijou (2011)
Hyouka (2012)
Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! (2012-2018)
Tamako Market (2013-2014)
Free! (2013-present)
Kyoukai no Kanata (2013-2015)
Amagi Brilliant Park (2014-2015)
Hibike! Euphonium (2015-present)
Musaigen no Phantom World (2016)
Koe no Katachi (2016-2017)
Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon (2017)
Violet Evergarden (2018-present)
Tsurune (2018-2019)
Personally, part of me wants to believe that these people will continue living through their creations, but what’s been done to them is unforgivable. We all know that this will definitely affect current and future projects of the studio, but let’s show only support for the survivors until they’re able to get back on track.
Stay strong, KyoAni!!

The building’s condition looks really bad by the looks of the video…
Several injured and some “heavily.” Jesus Christ I don’t even know what to say. Who the fuck would do something like this???
ETA: At least 40 injured now. I can’t even.

ETA: “Multiple fatalities” THIS IS SO FUCKED.
As of this very moment, the death toll from this crime has risen to 33. Many remain injured, some gravely.
This is…just an unspeakable tragedy. It hits especially hard because KyoAni is the place with the best reputation as an employer and some of the most wholesome offerings as a studio. This horrific incident counters everything that KyoAni has embodied throughout its existence.
I feel numb.

Hi everyone,
No luck yet with lifting the block, but I’ve made some inroads. Hoping we can get back online. Going to be moving the look of things around soon-ish so I’ll keep you all posted and thank you for sticking around.
I wanted to update because the news about Kyoto Animation is absolutely horrific. I’m a New Yorker with family who worked near the World Trade Center and I used to work near Sandy Hook. I am deeply familiar with waiting by the news for updates to make sure people are okay, and the dread as you realize it’s going to get worse. If anybody knew someone who worked there, all my love and strength and grief is with you.
My experience making Moon Animate Make-Up was that it was a lot of work, but it was always some of the most fun I’ve ever had, and that’s what animation should be. An animation office should be a place where you get to be happy and safe because you get to make cartoons for a living, and it means you get to give people joy. It’s a wonderful gift. Everyone who worked at Kyoto Animation got to do something beautiful for people and we are so fortunate to have had them.
I hope those who want peace have peace. I hope those who can’t stop screaming and crying until they feel normal get every piece of it out. Feel what you have to feel because you are allowed to have that. This is appalling in the extreme and there is never, ever, ever any reason for this level of violence.
This has been a news week of one horror after the other, and I hope everyone is managing it as best they can. This one hit home and I wanted to say I see you and I hope you’re taking care of yourselves.
Now go take a break from the computer. Do those piano hand stretches to keep your tendons limber, look outside so your eyes get re-adjusted to normal sunlight, get a glass of water, and talk to your friends.
Keep making the world a beautiful place. You’ve got a gift and we need it.
Have a good Thursday. <3

Again…. feeling so lucky I was able to be a part of the Feel Our Hearts project and that we were able to deliver our feelings of appreciation to KyoAni!
I’m struggling for words to write here, I don’t know what to say… but I guess I want to say thank you again, to KyoAni, for always being so kind to your fans. Thank you for all of the amazing works you’ve produced over the years. Clannad is my all time favourite anime, and Free! let me make friends with so many amazing people from around the world. Only KyoAni has made an anime that influenced me so much that I went on an adventure alone to stay in a small seaside town on the west coast of Japan. Thank you for having such an impact on my life. I also want to say sorry, sorry that such a horrible tragedy had to happen to those wonderful, hardworking, talented amazing people. It’s a tragedy.
Was looking through all of the staff messages I took photos of at the 2015 KyoAni event…
I couldn’t hold back tears when I saw these two
