Because everyone loves someone, and anyone who loves someone has had those desperate nights where we lie awake trying to figure our how we can afford to carry on being human beings. Sometimes that makes us do things that seem ridiculous in hindsight, but which felt like the only way out at the time.
—Fredrik Backman, Anxious People.

Eugeo truly is the entire bakery oh my fcking god
KiritoKNOWS how to pick them, like, what a pro
From the moment he saw Eugeo, he just knew~
He looked to be my age—about seventeen or eighteen. His ash-brown hair had just a hint of waviness. Like me, he wore a simple tunic and trousers. He was sitting on a root like a bench, holding something round in his right hand.
The odd part was his appearance. His skin was cream-colored, but he appeared neither fully Western nor Eastern. His features were fineandgentle, and his eyes looked dark green.
The moment I saw his face, something deep in my head itched again…deep in my soul. But the instant I tried to seize the feeling, it vanished.”
And for some reason I didn’t understand, I found that I wanted to talk more with the helpful young man. I told him, “It’s fine, I can wait. I appreciate the help.”
His smile grew a bit wider, and he replied, “I see. In that case, you can sit anywhere you like. Oh…I didn’t give you my name yet, did I?”
He held out his right hand. “I’m Eugeo. Nice to meet you, Mr. Kirito.”
His grip was much firmer than his skinny build would suggest.

Hope you guys have a good laugh.
Merry Christmas~!
I tried to finish the volume by Christmas. I somewhat completed my goal but didn’t have enough time to do a final read-over of the entire volume. I’ll ninja swap the link once I get around to doing that. :3
Anyways, see you guys in volume 8.
Progress update here.
Okay, starting with chapter 3 will be the fun fun battle part.
Funny how chapter 2 is exactly 50% of the novel(No rounding). Anyways, I’ll probably get chapter 3 done pretty soon. Forcing myself to speed up since I gotta prepare for Volume.8 :D. (I ordered it so it should get here in around a week)
So I heard Volume 8 is the final volume. Please try not to spoil things and ruin other peoples’ fun if you encounter information or illustrations from volume 8.
Sorry it took bit long to start Vol.7, some delivery troubles went on.
While I’m glad that the quality of story in this volume went up, it worries me at the same time that if I can translate it well enough to match :s
Anyways, progress might be bit slower compared to previous volumes because it’s school season right now.
Also, I was thinking while turning this light novel completely into a visual novel might be too much of a daunting task, it might be cool to turn couple memorable scenes in the novel into a visual novel format. (To send KoG some ideas. Maybe if it’s appealing enough we might get a full visual novel game with different routes and stuff :D). Of course this is only a story when I can get access to character arts. (Either by the help of some really nice artist or using base character arts they use for story quests in game)
I did stop posting small progress updates on the novels on tumblr because it was too tedious. But I’ll start doing updates on chapter and volume completions for people that only keep up with the novel on tumblr.
Someone’s kiss is needed to go back to the original universe.
Intersecting feelings because of this.
Dishonest lies and misunderstanding.
Unexpected betrayal and sacrifice.
Long awaited embrace and tears.
And truth that’s finally revealed, Add has to make a decision in order to return to the original universe.
Decision to deceive, steal and sacrifice.
‘The Owl House’ Light Novel Ceases Production after Writers Allegedly Leave Due to Low Pay
Production on the planned light novel adaptation of Disney’s fantasy series The Owl House appears to have ceased after writers walked away from the project.
The light novel, which was planned as an original story set in the world of Dana Terrace’s fantasy cartoon The Owl House was initially announced last year. The book was to be published by Tokyopop, Disney Press, and Disney Manga.
Initially slated for a March 2022 release, the light novel was pushed back before being seemingly canceled. Barnes and Nobel have also stopped taking preorders for the book.
The book was canceled because the publisher was unwilling to pay fairly for the project, according to the series creator, Dana Terrace. On March 25, Terrace tweeted, “Basically asking ppl to write a whole damn book for pennies. Every writer chose to walk away, and I can’t blame em.”
Terracereaffirmed the crew’s wish for a book or graphic novel based on the series, writing, “It’s a dream for a lot of ppl on the crew. We also want to be paid fairly for that time and effort.”
YuriMother reached out to Tokyopop for comment, but they were unable to give clarification on the status of the light novel or speak much on the issue. A representative told us, “Our contract with Disney prevents us from responding about this matter at this point – we are waiting for guidance from them.”
This incident is not the first time Tokyopop has been criticized for its treatment of artists and creators. In 2008, the company’s “Rising Stars of Manga contest” was condemned for having creators sign away “moral rights” to their work and low rates, allegedly around 20$ per page.
The Owl House is a fantasy cartoon following Luz Noceda (Sarah-Nicole Robles), a human who stumbles through a portal to a strange other world full of demons and witches. There, she becomes the apprentice and effective daughter of the world’s most wanted witch, Eda Clawthorn (Wendie Malick). The series has received praise for its characters, worldbuilding, and LGBTQ+ representation.
The series’ second season is currently airing on Disney Channel. The Owl House is set to conclude with a shortened final season consisting of three specials following the announcement of its cancelation last year.
‘I’m in Love with the Villainess’ Spin-off Releases First Volume in Japanese
On Monday, February 28, GL Bunko released the first volume of Inori’s Yuri light novel Heimin no Kuse ni Namaikina (She’s So Cheeky for a Commoner) digitally in Japanese. The light novel features illustrations by Hanagata.
The light novel is a spin-off of Inori’s hit Yuri isekai series I’m in Love with the Villainess (Watashi no Oshi wa Akuyaku Reijou). It retells the events of the main series from love interest Claire’s point of view, including new content.
I’m in Love with the Villainess follows Oohashi Rei, who awakens as Rae, the protagonist of her favorite otome game. However, Rae is not interested in pursuing any of this new world’s eligible bachelors but instead sets her sights on Claire, the main antagonist. The series follows Rae and Claire’s relationship and the threats they face in this world and beyond.
The series has received praise for its characters, world-building, and LGBTQ+ themes. I awarded the series a 10/10 score for its second volume. The series also placed fifth in AnimeJapan’s Manga We Want to See Animated category and 17th in the Next Manga Awards Best Printed Manga category last year.
The series began as a web novel series on Shousetsuka ni Narou before being picked up as a light novel by GL Bunko. The series ran for five volumes, the last of which was published in Japanese last August. A manga adaptation of the series illustrated by Anoshimo began in June of 2020 and is currently serialized in Comic Yuri Hime. Both the light novels and the manga are licensed in English by Seven Seas Entertainment.
Given the popularity of I’m in Love with the Villainess domestically and abroad, an English license and adaptation may be forthcoming, but no official news or rumors has been released as of yet.
Classic Yuri Sci-Fi Series ‘Qualia the Purple’ Licensed in English
On Wednesday, February 9, Seven Seas Entertainment announced that it had licensed Misamitsu Ueo and Sirou Tsunasima Yuri series Qualia the Purple. Both the series original light novel and Tsunasima’s complete manga were licensed.
The publisher describes the series:
Through the uncanny purple eyes of Yukari, all people appear to her as robots. Her talent is both a blessing and a curse. She is able to assist the police in sizing up threats, since her “skill” allows her to evaluate humans’ quirks and physical capabilities like cataloging the parts of a machine–yet her strange sight has cost her the friendship of her peers. She does have one friend in her corner: Hatou “Gaku” Manabu, a girl at school who cares deeply for Yukari. When Yukari is recruited into a secret organization, the real trouble begins. Gaku is thrust into a realm of mystery, quantum experimentation, and alternate universes, with only her wits–and her love for Yukari–to guide her along the way.
Qualia the Purple was initially released in 2009 under Kadokawa’s Dengeki Bunko label. The series is notable for the heavy inclusion of high science fiction concepts and elements, something relatively unsees in Yuri before its point. It is a precursor in many ways to modern sci-fi Yuri like Otherside Picnic andLast and First Idol. The series is highly reviewed and well regarded for its characters and plot.
The light novel’s original illustrator, Sirou Tsunasima, created a manga adaption of Qualia, which was serialized in Dengeki Daioh from 2011 to 2013. Kadokawa publishes three volumes of the manga in Japanese.
Qualia the Purple is another classic Yuri announcement in recent years. Seven Seas will release the light novel digitally and in print in November 2022, over a decade after the original Japanese publication. This was similar to the 2019 announcement of Akiko Morishma’s The Conditions of Paradise, another classic Yuri work given new life with a new audience years later as the genre’s popularity grows.
TheQualia the Purple light novel will be released in a single edition in November 2022 and the manga collection will be available in June 2023.
