Lee Minho tells you that he drowned his AirPods during that one campfire social by the beach and that he can’t afford to buy a new pair because he’s a dirt poor, money-starved college student who survives solely off of Shin Ramyun and its complementary mushroom flakes.
You know this because 1) he’s mentioned it before during the ten-minute break of your three-hour-long marketing lecture and even got the professor involved in a heated discussion about Apple’s obligation to make all of their product lines waterproof for maximum customer brand loyalty, 2) the past several calls with him have been staticy and demonic sounding, and 3) he actually FaceTimed you during his grocery trip last weekend and asked whether he should buy two five-packs of Shin Ramyun or one. You said one, but you’re pretty sure Minho’s too fucking weak to pass up on that two-for-one deal.
So here you are, grocery shopping on a Friday night (because you’ll never wake up early on a Saturday morning) and listening to your best friend wail about his misfortunes through the phone as you’re slapping every watermelon you come in contact with.
this was the absolute cutest and I loved it so much their relationship is just everything, your descriptions are amazing and it really pulled me into the story. huge props for writing this ❤️

perhaps if you hadn’t put off studying for weeks, you wouldn’t be here, stressed in an almost empty classroom when you were supposed to be having lunch.
you could hear the sound of minho munching on some chips echoing off the classroom walls as he paced through the rows of desks.
you’d told him to have lunch without you, but he’d insisted on “fulfilling his boyfriend duties” and staying with you.
a part of him probably wished he was outside, in the fresh air, away from the dusty classroom, but he had made the commitment, and he had to stick with it.

“This one! This place is so good,” you pulled your boyfriend by the hand into the second cafe of the day. Minho was a homebody, if he could cook for you every day he would. When he suggested you two spend a day outside together because the weather was nice, you couldn’t pass up the opportunity. Though overhearing your day plans, Jisung and Hyunjin invited themselves to tag along and turn your date into a group outing. “Oh, I like this place too! The bakery items are always so fresh,” Jisung cooed from behind you. Minho had initially opened the door to let you in, placing his hand on the small of your back to usher you inside, but Jisung had cut him off and scurried on your tail. You could hear him scoff as Hyunjin followed behind Jisung and patted your boyfriend on the shoulder with a, “thanks, hyung.”
Minho immediately found your side again, letting you wrap your arm around his and he shoved his hands into his coat pockets. “What do you want?” his question was directed to you, hence him only looking at you as your eyes scanned the menu.
“The lavender latte sounds good,” Hyunjin responded before you did. Minho ignored his friend and kept his attention between you and the menu hanging above the counter. “I think I’ll get the hazelnut,” Jisung quipped.
“What about you?” Minho asked you again, this time nudging your side a little. You brought your free hand up to tuck a strand of hair behind your ear, scrunching your nose a bit as you thought about what you wanted to order. “I think peach tea and a croissant,” you looked up at him contently, “what looks good to you?”
Your boyfriend was generally a routine guy, didn’t like straying from his usuals, but today was a day he wanted to spend doing the things you enjoyed. So when he said he wanted the same as you, it made your tummy flutter just a little. “Two peach teas and two croissants, please,” he’d told the cashier. A short but loud, “ahem,” from behind the two of you made your boyfriend huff slightly, “and one lavender and one hazelnut latte, as well.” Minho handed the cashier his card as you patted him gently on the back. Another, “thanks, hyung!” rang from your two friends.
