It felt like reading an old handwritten letter.

maharashtra, august 2020.

It has been a while, since I wrote down anything. But this mind has still been that blank piece of sheet, and these thoughts flowing like the ink of the same broken pen.

I have been thinking, about how time is beyond our control, how it escapes us ; and how the moments we live are precious, until it just become memories you can only think about, while rummaging through the past. Thinking, about these times, these people, these faces. Some feelings, some words, some sounds. It all appear so clear to me, like these moments happened just few days back, but yet, it feels like a dream you had, you just try to collect all the detailed pieces to make the puzzle complete. I have been thinking about how these times, that never come twice, shouldn’t be taken for granted. We need to value people’s company more, value the smallest and simplest moments and things surrounding us here.

Again, there, I will be caught in some nostalgia and reverie, just remembering all that.

The Kailasanathar Temple is one of the 34 monasteries and temples, extending over more than 2 km, that were dug side by side in the wall of a high basalt cliff in the complex. Of these 34 monasteries and temples, the Kailasa is a remarkable example of Dravidian architecture account of its striking proportion, its elaborate workmanship, and its sculptural ornamentation. - wikipedia.org

Siddheshwar temple, Parner, Maharashtra

It a distance of 4 km from Parner, at the very foot of the hill at Siddheshwar Wadi, this Peshwa-era Siddheshwar temple stands. Remains of Chalukya and Yadav temples, pillars and idols can be seen in the vicinity of the temple. This temple is also important from the point of view of Mahanubhav sect as they believe that Datta’s birth place is here.

The temple grounds are scenic. In the courtyard of the temple is a quadrangle with a brass bell on which the cross of the church is carved. This is one of the bells removed by the Peshwas from the Portuguese church.

Parner is a rainfed plateau between Junnar and Ahmednagar. Parner is said that Parner was the sacrificial land of Parashar Rishi, Parashar Rishi is the grandson of Vashishta Rishi and father of Krishnadvaipayan Shri Vyas who composed Mahabharata, the mythological context.
This part of Dandakaranya is a land that bears witness to the history of Ramayana - Mahabharata to medieval Rashtrakuta - Chalukya - Yadav and Peshwa period.

This area is equally important from the geographical point of view. The salt pillars found in this area are world famous.
