#mandarin chinese
In Mandarin Chinese we say “再见 (zài jiàn)” as “goodbye” or “farewell”, which roughly translates to “see (见) you again (再)” and I think that’s beautiful, because that means there is no true goodbye in the Mandarin Chinese language, and we only ever part ways for the time being.

Having a language teacher from a country where your target language is spoken is the most advantageous thing. Not only do you learn overlooked sayings and culture points, but you start to analyze the idiosyncrasies of your own language.
it is surreal, yet hilarious when two languages’ slang come together and kinda clash
In Mandarin class, we have a chinglish version of 试一试,想一想,猜一猜 etc etc. We still say 一 but the verb is English. It becomes, try一try, think一think, guess一guess. Also, try一try sounds like 踹一踹 so be careful hahaha.

It was hard to just pick three, but here are my favorites that can be found easily everywhere.…
