Dip your head below the water’s surface in a mangrove forest and an entirely new ecosystem is revealed. The twisting mangrove roots, some of which don’t make it to the seafloor, support a great diversity of life—including sponges, sea anemones, brittle stars, and sea urchins.
When I lived in Grand Turk, TCI 13+ years ago, one of my favorite things to see was the mangroves and the rich marine life they harbored I remember being so blown away that one day our Form 1 Science class went on a field trip to North Creek. I’d never realized sea water could be so clear that you see all of the marine life present without even stepping in (it was so pretty!!!!) That was the day I fell in love with sea urchins ☺️ #memorylane #passionpassport #lonelyplanet #mangroves #northcaicos #tci #turksandcaicos #livetravelchannel #liveauthentic #nikonlove #nikonnofilter #beach #beautiful #weekend #scenery #sea #travelnoire #travel #wander #explore #exploretocreate #picoftheday (at Turks and Caicos Islands)
