It was the love of love, the love that swallows up all else, a grateful love, a love of nature, of people, of animals, a love of engendering gentleness and goodness that moved me and that I saw in you.
@Instagram, sort yer bloody shit out. I’m sick of this halfassed portrait crop that still won’t allow full frame images Shot at a pebbly beach (probably actually called Pebble Beach) up north between Cairns and Port Douglas by the wonderful @mikestaceyphoto in my favourite red Roccos, @_marieyat_ thong, @silklaundry cami and one of my favourite vintage hats. • #Tropical #FarNorthQueensland #Beach #Cairns #PortDouglas #Beautiful #Beaches #DiscoverQueensland #Vintage #Fashion #Sunhat #Red #Leather #Boots #Portrait #MarieYat #Black #Thong #SilkLaundry #Love #Luxury #Lingerie #LingerieLife #LingerieStyle #LingerieModel #GetOutdoors #ExploreToCreate
To the year that was and to the year that it now is. I realise my obligatory NY shitpost is late but I’ve been pretty compulsively trying to deny the passage of time and catch my breath from The Year That Was. It was a tough year for a lot of people and I just really hope whatever external forces that are at work in this big ol’ galaxy get their shit together and go easy on us in the shiny new year. There was a lot of change and a lot of adjustments, a lot of loss and learning too. Still, I had the pleasures of meeting, hanging out with and working with some incredible people, exploring beautiful places and creating some great images which are my gratitudes for 2016. So however the year ended for you, I hope you’re feelin’ groovy and moving towards good times ahead. Here’s to more nakedness and more awakedness in 2k17! by @mikestaceyphoto
I’ve noticed in the last few years that people generally fall in to one of two categories when it comes to the holiday season, Love or Loathe. For those who have suffered long term mental illness, estrangement, trauma or grief, Christmas and New Years are a particularly tough time and this year I’ve already been hit by the sadness of someone who decided they couldn’t make it through. To anyone who can’t believe they’re not getting that Christmas bonus they “deserve” or the Tiffany pendant they wanted, go and get repeatedly and painfully fucked. To anyone bah-humbugging the idea of seeing their siblings or having to sit down and tolerate the inlaws, it’s ok, you’re strong, you WILL get through it. Take some time out this holiday season to look after yourself but also spare a thought for those less fortunate than you. Those who have nowhere to go, the children who’ll wake up on Christmas morning in cars or under bridges where Santa doesn’t stop. Those with no families to quarrel with and those who are only reminded of their deep losses in this time of year. Homelessness, old age and ill health are poverties not restricted to the developing world and as Mother Teresa put it, “The greatest disease […] is not TB or leprosy; it is being unwanted, unloved, and uncared for. We can cure physical diseases with medicine, but the only cure for loneliness, despair, and hopelessness is love. There are many in the world who are dying for a piece of bread but there are many, many more dying for a little love.” It doesn’t cost anything to be mindful, to give love or lend an ear over the holidays, even if you choose not to engage in celebrating the season. • #BlackAndWhite #Christmas #Holidays #Feels #MotherTeresa #Quote #Loneliness #Despair #Hopelessness #Love #FineArt #Nature #Wild #Nude #Nest #ArtNude #NudeModel #Australia #Handmade #Leather #Crown #GetOutdoors #ExploreToCreate #PointyAndProud #BodyConfidence #BodyPositive
And finally! The famous view of the bridge! Sadly I was hoping for the golden hour light… turns out the sun goes down on the opposite side so morning light would be better. But I am still happy with how this came out :D <3 #Saxony #Bastie
I think the sky was totally on my side! It was a rainy cloudy, gross, mess on our drive here. I was so worried we wouldnt end up hiking. But probably about 10 minutes out, the sky cleared, and the sun came out, and this happened :D <3 #Saxony #Bastie
Yep… still more photos from Bastie… and there will be more. But just look how magical it is there! I highly recommend this hike to anyone remotely in the area. #Saxony #Bastie
3 years ago today, I got to witness one of those rare astronomical events that leaves everyone awestruck - a total eclipse. This is a composite of several photos I took that day outside Lusk, Wyoming. I had one camera set up taking wide landscape shots and one camera with a telephoto lens and special filter to keep the sun from burning up my sensor. I wanted the landscape to convey the feeling I got during the totality - a cold night-like sky, the distant clouds and horizon had a warmer early dusk vibe, and the ground had very flat and dull light, which we usually don’t like in photography, but here, it represents how it actually was.
