Out today: the first article in Dr. Michael Lawton’s 7 Cavernomas, “Recurrent brainstem cavernous malformations following primary resection: blind spots,” published in the Journal of Neurosurgery. It depicts a supraolivary cavernous malformation. Patients with these lesions present with Millard-Gubler syndrome comprising ipsilateral abducens nerve palsy, ipsilateral facial nerve palsy, and contralateral hemiparesis/hemiplegia (Dr. Joshua Catapano, neurosurgery resident PGY-6 @barrowneuro , was brave enough to be Kristen’s model for this syndrome).
