Pizzaiolo - affectionately christened “Nonno ‘Olo” by his grandson and the local foals - is the owner of a humble pizza shop Bel Amore in Ponyville. His son, Pot Cheese, decided to go off and try to make it big in the city, leaving dear old dad all alone in the pizza parlor. One day, he unceremoniously returns with a month-old unicorn foal with an underdeveloped horn, shoves him into his father’s hooves, and then leaves. Pizzaiolo raised that foal as his own son and he grew up to be the ruggedly handsome bachelor of Ponyville, Ricotta Sinatra, or “Ricky” for short.
Pizzaiolo is patient and kind - your typical ideal grandpa figure. He could toss a pizza six ways to Sunday, make it do cartwheels around his legs, and still come out perfectly round. He’s a master of toppings and sauce making; skills he’s worked very hard to pass on to his grandson. He’s adored by the young foals because he often gives them free garlic knots and breadsticks. He still does even when they grow up and start families of their own.
Ricotta Sinatra is just like his grandfather and then some. He’s strong and prefers to do things the old fashion way rather than rely on magic. Even though his horn is underdeveloped, he can still use basic magic and often makes things shoot towards him during lunch and dinner rushes.
He was the star jock in school with a heart of gold, everything any potential suitor could want, yet he’s never had a date and remains the most sought-after bachelor in Ponyville, with mares (and a few stallions) turning up regularly to try and court him though none succeed. Mothers and Grandmas alike often tut at him and ask him when he’ll meet a nice mare, settle down, and have a little pizza baby of his own. Questions he tries to avoid and is often quick to change the topic to where they got their new necklace or how nice their new haircut looks.
Decided to finally draw a horse I’d been lowkey eyeing for an eventual fanart, @seabreezy‘s SombraLuna NG boy, Pyrinos. Gib me edgy bbys I draw them. xD So yeah, did up a bust of the boi so I could get something drawn today and figured why the hey not the stallion with the flowy flowy hair.
This is Berry Melony, she owns her own lil café that specializes in fruit drinks and her special talent is fruit farming. She goes by Melony or Mel and is very friendly!
Arctic Tide grew up an orphan in a very full orphanage. He was born before Sombra took over the Crystal Empire. When he did, he took all the orphans and children he could find and trained them to be soldiers, including Arc. Being forced into the army and trained as a soldier kept him from discovering his special talent and thus, he never received his cutie mark
Being forced into battle at a young age and constantly made to prove his mettle or be thrown into the crystal mines, Arc quickly went from a cheerful, playful young foal to a strict and cold soldier. He climbed the ranks to avoid punishments and seek more privileges and did many evil acts in Sombra’s name, all of which he deeply regrets.
When Sombra is defeated after their sudden return 1000 years after the battle with Canterlot, Arc stays in the Crystal Guard and becomes one of Prince Shining Armor’s lead generals. He and the other soldiers were given a choice to stay in the army or to return to civilian life and live it how they chose. Most, surprisingly, chose to stay in the army; it was the only life they’d ever known. Those who stayed admitted to their crimes under Sombra and were given royal pardons by Princess Cadence and a second chance to lead honest lives.
He’s another one-night-stand bby from Victory Vale’s pap, though they have different moms. He never knew his mom because she left shortly after he was born. He and his pap never really got along when he was younger but after reaching fame and success with his special talent, his father is very proud of him and they get along well now. His dad comes to any competition that he’s in if he can get the time off.
When Black Ice and Victory Vale finally meet, it’s when they are both grown adults. Black Ice is a retired national figure skating champion with his own ice rink in Glimmer City, and Victory Vale is a retired Royal Guard general who settled down in Ponyville with his wife, Dulce de Leche, and had two kids of his own, Cinnamon Star and Velvet Valentine.
It’s not a well-kept secret that in my NextGen AU, Tempest felt lost after the Storm King was defeated and tried to find herself in the beds of many suitors and one-night stands. One such night led to her having Victory Vale, who moved on to become one of the most decorated generals in the Canterlot Royal Guard before being forced to retire.
I’ve never talked about his dad much, but that was less to be mysterious or build up tension and more so because I just couldn’t figure out who would be a suitable gene donor to make little VV. After a while, I decided that I couldn’t really see any of the canon ponies being his father and drew up my own. He takes after his father in looks - they’re practically spitting images of each other - but he has his mother’s colors (sorta).
More to come on his father later whenever I get around to it.
