This harness worked out great on Boo until he had a stress seizure getting it off . We did everything right… But it’s just not meant to be. He will go to indoor get togethers only, or outside in his bubble. Misha was very sad that we left @shortymixcookies party early.

Baby came over to visit today! I wish she’d teach Boo to not be scared of sports and action movies on the television. Misha thought that she was a rival for attention but ignored her while he focused on soaking it in from me and Baby’s mom.

Perfect weather and evening to have chicken on a stick from @graffitigrubstl and a cocktail from @stlbarkeep (said hi to @bark_n_sniff). Misha was the perfect picture of calm fluffy cuddly Moluccan cockatoo love … until it came time to leave. No video because he was acting suddenly obnoxious as we were leaving. He laughed at every kid we passed walking to the car, which meant he wanted to get petted by every small child (and did)….

How is it that Boo is so darn hormonal and hyperactive all the time?! He’s worse at 21 than when he was 15!! Misha, on the other hand, is so much more emotionally stable and just easier going all around, including hormones. At 12 years old Misha is deliberate, predictable and not nearly so frantic. Boo acts like I’ve never told him no (which I totally have a few times). I love Boo with all my heart but some nights like tonight he’s a bit much . Clearly, if you give a cockatoo a cookie you’ll end up giving it Ted Drewes and it will shortly take over your life

Took Boo to the @tgfarmersmarket for the first time. He started taking his harness off so he had to stay in his bubble. He said “hi” to all the people and got jealous when Misha got attention. We stopped by @shortymixcookies and a few other booths. My birds both love attention and @holeekao is a champ for indulging them with me .

Misha being this close to Chris without actively trying to murder him is incredible progress from a year ago. It really started to click with him that Chris is his friend once we all went to the Tower Grove Farmers Market. Sharing cookies (from @shortymixcookies ) bribed him further. Moluccan cockatoos live 50-80 years or more, so taking almost a year to be minimally friendly is just a relatively short time.

This was Misha’s first time out in a crowd since fall 2019! He was a little shy but still had fun and was such a good bird. I bought him fresh broccoli and greens. I hope he’s tired out for the rest of the day now. Boo is jealous (and going to work on harness training him so he can come out too!) @tgfarmersmarket
