Getting tiktok ironically and staying on it un-ironically

socialjusticeichigo:

A lot of terms are being thrown around throughout all this ‘discourse’ so I wanted to clear some of them up for my followers, especially since some of them are very new.

A-spec = Anyone on the ace or aro spectrum.

Ace/Ace-spec = Anyone on the ace spectrum (the most common ace identities being asexual, gray-asexual, and demisexual).

Aro/Aro-spec = Anyone on the aro spectrum (the most common aro identities being aromantic, gray-aromantic, and demiromantic).

M-spec = Anyone on the multisexual or multiromantic spectrum.

REG= Reactionary Exclusionist Gatekeepers (covers people like T(W)ERFs,truscum/transmedicalists, intersexists, monosexists, exorsexists, and aphobes who are trying to exclude and gatekeep people they’ve decided aren’t ‘queer enough’ to be in the community.)

Exorsexism, Nbphobia, or Enbyphobia = Prejudice against non-binary genders.

Binarism= A term coined by POC to describe the way white colonialism forced the gender binary on them. The term should not be appropriated by white non-binary individuals and it does not simply refer to prejudice against non-binary genders. (Edit: This is possibly incorrect, go here for the conversion surrounding this term.)

Monosexual = Someone who is sexually attracted to only one gender.

Monoromantic = Someone who is romantically attracted to only one gender.

Monosexism = Prejudice towards m-spec people.

Allosexual= Someone who is not on the ace spectrum.

Alloromantic = Someone who is not on the aro spectrum.

Allosexism or Aphobia = Prejudice towards a-spec people.

Amatonormativity = The idea that romantic attraction/relationships should be valued above all other forms of attraction/relationships and are an inherently important part of the human experience or that monogamy and marriage are the desired end result for everyone.

Perisex or Dyadic = Someone who is not intersex.

SGA/SSA = Same gender attraction/same sex attraction. Often confused with SGL. Has it’s roots in Mormon conversion therapy and is thus a gross ass term.

MGA = Multi-gender attraction. I personally don’t use it just because SGA is such a problematic term.

SGL = Same gender loving. Often confused with SGA. Is AAVE and should not be used by non-black people.

MOGAI= Marginalized Orientations, Gender Alignments, and Intersex. An umbrella term to describe anyone who deviates from heterosexuality, heteroromanticism, allosexuality, alloromanticism, cisgender, or perisex. Coined by a CSA survivor, not a pedophile

COGAP = Centered Orientations, Gender Alignments, and Perisex. An umbrella term to describe people who are heterosexual + heteroromantic, allosexual + alloromantic, cisgender, andperisex.

Split Attraction Model (SAM) = Used when someone’s sexual orientation and romantic orientation don’t match. (Examples: Asexual heteroromantic or bisexual homoromantic)

If I got anything wrong, let me know. And feel free to add.
