#mr wolf

LIVE

Spoiler warning, obviously.

Wolf spent his whole life thinking a better life wasn’t possible for him, that being a criminal was all the hope he had in this world, and if he was going to be one, then he was going to be the damn best. And even though he talks a big game, deep down, he resents how the world sees him, because even if he did decide to change, who would even believe him?

And then Diane shows up, and at first, he elects to make her his sworn enemy when she badmouths the gang on television. But then she surprises him in various ways. She describes in detail how they flubbed their last big heist. Accurately pins down that Wolf was going to make his next heist personal. Showing him the trash sculpture has a hidden meaning. And then when she reveals she stole her ring back from him. Always the villain in every story, now being encouraged to write a new story for himself and his friends. She knew what he was feeling - because she had been there - and sees the potential for good in him where others can’t.

“Believe it or not, I’m rooting for you, Wolf.”

That was probably the first time in his whole life that somebody believed he could be good. It’s no wonder he couldn’t bring himself to break that trust at the charity gala; when would he ever get something like that again? And this is all before her Crimson Paw reveal. She didn’t have anyone to guide her out of a life of crime. She had to go it alone and never had the chance to properly atone for what she had done. But now she could be someone’s guiding light, to give Wolf something she didn’t have. And it all builds up to that last moment – when she about to reveal the truth and turn herself in so the gang doesn’t get punished, but Wolf steps up and stops her, choosing to be an unsung hero instead of a loud criminal, showing how much he’s grown thanks to her.

What a fun movie! Did not see the first twist coming (the one about the actual bad guy)

It was refreshing to watch a mobie that wasn’t part of an extended universe, or too dark, or too sad. This was just a nice movie experience! It was funny, the animation was neat and the characters were really charming.

I didn’t think I’d ever draw The Bad Guys wolf but memories of 2016 Zootopia fandom gave me an idea

The big bad wolf, but bader-rer…

We all know that Snake’s jealousy is not romantic and it’s because Wolf is his best friend and he doesn’t want to lose him

…but expect a gay drawing or 2 from time to time for funsies

Some practice sketches with The Bad Guys!!

(I know I didn’t draw Ms. Tarantula but I didn’t have references at the moment and she deserves a cute drawing)

Really glad they didn’t force a romance between these two

Wolf uses both hands and I really love this detail

Image 1- Marmalade’s typical night at home Image 2 - With Marmalade distracted, the gang easily sneaks out of his compound. Image 3 - “How to be good” ideas. Sharing ice cream to kids in the neighborhood. Image 4 - Sharing fail! Image 5 - Thumbnail sketches of the gang at home. Idea: Wolf can’t find the remote again and asks Tarantula where it’s at. Image 6 - Shark and Piranha race to use the bathroom first. Shark beats him to it. Image 7 - Wolf grabbing a bowl of cereal in the kitchen while chatting with Snake. Image 8 - Kitten doodles. Image 9 - Snake goes real Bad. How far can we push this anger towards his best friend? Final image - Bad Guys consumerism consumes all.
