falling for a person like jaemin isn’t difficult. definitely not when he’s just so easy to love. it makes you wonder if it’s too easy, as if there’s a catch to it all. though, with the way his tired eyes light up instantly when he sees you walking toward him in the courtyard, anyone could recognize how in love he truly is. jaemin, the boy who wakes up early just so he can give you your morning coffee before your first class even though he doesn’t have class until noon.
the way your heart flutters when he immediately takes a seat next to you in the booth of your favorite diner just so he can hold your hand while eating, and the close proximity promises that he doesn’t miss a single (boring) word you say. still, jaemin makes it known that he’s listening by nodding his head, humming, and maintaining eye contact that is nearly impossible for you to hold.
the worries you once had of not being able to attain that undying love that lasts until you and your partner are wrinkly and weak, crumbles down when jaemin rests his chin on your head as he secures his embrace around you as you both lay on the bed. there are still nights where you assume that he’s just staying with you for pity. but you are proven wrong the next morning when you’re awoken alone in his bed as he got up extra early to make you breakfast, making sure to be quiet the entire time so he doesn’t disrupt your rest. throughout your time together, jaemin observes your expression when eating to see if the food satisfies you, then mentally takes note of the stuff you like and dislike.

stars are scattered on its dark canvas. “that one is the prettiest,” he whispers, his warm breath hitting your neck. you can see a finger of his point from the corner of your eyes but you didn’t need to know which star he was referring to know which he thinks is the prettiest star of them all.
it’s the biggest one, twinkling in intervals of five seconds, you’ve been observing that one even before jaemin pointed it out. “i think so too.”
moments like these where comfortable silence and calm breathing with jaemin are so valuable. you aren’t sure where else you can find silence that lasts so long and still find it tolerable and enjoyable. jaemin is contradictory to your love life, or the love life that you used to have. the partners you used to date; the attention you used to attract; the treatment you used to deal with.
with jaemin, everything has been completely foreign to you, almost shocking as fiction you’ve read in your sappy romance books is becoming a reality for you. it boggles you. you’re guilty of wanting it to be too good to be true at times when things are suspiciously too calm. almost if calmness terrifies you as you expect it to be the “calm before the storm,” and you have no choice but to sit still and wait for that storm to hit.

The protective part of Jeno would very rarely be able to ignore you when you were in a room with him. The sound of your voice was something that he was always drawn to, you had his attention unknowingly a lt.

When you wanted, the two of you could be pretty stubborn with one another and determined to get your own way, you could refuse to be quiet no matter how long you had been bickering for.

Whenever he spotted that something wasn’t right, Jeno would be right beside you in an instant. He would let you do whatever you needed to do, he would never judge you for crying or for venting to him and shouting, he’d just sit and then when you were done, he would try his best to comfort and support you.

If the two of you disagreed, it was usually because there was an underlying problem for one of you, most of the time when you were stressed or frustrated at work. From the start Jeno always knew that he trusted you, that was the most important thing to him. You helped him out and pointed him in the right direction at work which was something that he was always thankful for, and also gave him the assurance to know that he could come to you for anything. Jeno’s family loved having you with them whenever they organised things for the family, you were welcomed by all of them. If you weren’t there, then his grandparents especially would want to know where you were and why you hadn’t showed up. One thing that Jeno was careful of was you getting into harm when the two of you hung out, so he usually tried to go to a quieter part of the city where you were less likely to have a camera shoved in your face or have a group of fans chasing after the two of you and wanting to know exactly what you were doing.

The two of you had a habit of distancing yourselves from other people and getting lost in talking as just the two of you. You would just find yourselves chatting about something else, and then when you were done, suddenly realise that the rest of the group were talking about something different entirely.

Even though he was far away, Renjun still liked to have an eye on you. He would constantly text you, or text your family if he wasn’t able to get a hold of you to make sure that you were taking care of yourself well.

Most of the time the two of you would bicker over text, for example if one of you tried to get the other to sleep then you’d protest and assure them that it wasn’t too late and that you could stay and talk, or when the other planned to ship something over, you’d bicker about not wasting your money on each other.

Any time that he spoke to you on the phone, Renjun could tell straight away when something wasn’t right. He would push and push until eventually you sat down and told him what the problem was, because as he liked to remind you all the time, he knew you a lot better than you ever gave him the credit for.

The two of you hated wasting the limited time that you already had together by disagreeing, your texts and calls were limited at the best of times without spending it squabbling. If an argument felt as if it was brewing between the two of you, one of you would suggest hanging up for five minutes and going to get a drink before coming back onto the call and forgetting about what you had just spoken about.

Neither of you could really remember not knowing one another, it just felt like one of those things that had always been a part of your lives. You were quite glad that you had met each other so young if you were honest because as you got older you wondered whether you would be as close with one another, both feeling as if the getting to know each other process would be a lot more awkward and trickier for you both.

Renjun’s family were the best, they took the best care of you and always were there for you when you needed them. Because of your different time zones, getting together was sometimes difficult, but you tried your best to align your days so that you had a couple of hours when you did call. One of you would have to stay up a little bit later than you wanted most of the time, but it was worth it to be able to talk to each other.

The two of you had a habit of talking every day, even when you were both super busy, you’d still at least text one another at some point during the day. Even though you didn’t see each other in person, you still thought about each other a lot and made sure to keep the conversation going when you could.

He’s very observant when it comes to you, Mark likes to know where you are at least even if you’re not by his side, he doesn’t want to push you, but he certainly at least wants the comfort of knowing you’re safe.

The two of you bickering doesn’t happen too often, you usually only bicker if it really feels like the right thing to do. Most of the time it will be over stupid things that you can both be incredibly stubborn over, such as who’s going to foot the bill for dinner or who’ll have to pick up the snacks for you both.

Whenever you’re having a hard time, Mark is right there with you he never leaves you alone. You often try and tell him not to worry, knowing how busy he is, but that never stops Mark being there for you, knowing that he can always set work aside for a little while when it comes to being there for you and supporting you.

The two of you have a pretty good understanding of one another, and so disagreements between the two of you are rare.
